A Berry-Esseen Type Bound in Kernel Density Estimation for Negatively Associated Censored Data

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2013
We discuss the kernel estimation of a density function based on censored data when the survival and the censoring times form the stationary negatively associated (NA) sequences.

Examining Selected Theoretical Distributions of Life Expectancy to Analyse Customer Loyalty Durability. The Case of a European Retail Bank

open access: yesActa Universitatis Lodziensis. Folia Oeconomica, 2020
One of the key elements related to calculating Customer Lifetime Value is to estimate the duration of a client’s relationship with a bank in the future. This can be done using survival analysis.

Kaplan-Meier V- and U-statistics

open access: yes, 2020
In this paper, we study Kaplan-Meier V- and U-statistics respectively defined as $\theta(\widehat{F}_n)=\sum_{i,j}K(X_{[i:n]},X_{[j:n]})W_iW_j$ and $\theta_U(\widehat{F}_n)=\sum_{i\neq j}K(X_{[i:n]},X_{[j:n]})W_iW_j/\sum_{i\neq j}W_iW_j$, where $\widehat{

On consistency of kernel density estimators for randomly censored data : rates holding uniformly over adaptive intervals [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
. – In the usual right-censored data situation, let fn, n ∈ N, denote the convolution of the Kaplan–Meier product limit estimator with the kernels a−1n K(·/an), where K is a smooth probability density with bounded support and an → 0.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Asymptotically local minimax estimation of infinitely smooth density with censored data [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
The problem of the nonparametric minimax estimation of an innitely smooth density at a given point, under random censorship, is considered. We establish the exact limiting behavior of the local minimax risk and propose the ecient kernel -type estimator ...

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

Nonparametric survival analysis of epidemic data

open access: yes, 2011
This paper develops nonparametric methods for the survival analysis of epidemic data based on contact intervals. The contact interval from person i to person j is the time between the onset of infectiousness in i and infectious contact from i to j, where

Colorectal cancer‐derived FGF19 is a metabolically active serum biomarker that exerts enteroendocrine effects on mouse liver

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Meta‐transcriptome analysis identified FGF19 as a peptide enteroendocrine hormone associated with colorectal cancer prognosis. In vivo xenograft models showed release of FGF19 into the blood at levels that correlated with tumor volumes. Tumoral‐FGF19 altered murine liver metabolism through FGFR4, thereby reducing bile acid synthesis and increasing ...
