BLIMP‐1 and CD39 expression define human effector memory regulatory T cells in blood and recall responses to viruses

This study found that BLIMP‐1 is highly expressed in activated effector/memory human regulatory T cells, especially CD39+ Tregs, where it is associated with increased IL‐10 production and a conserved phenotype across blood and lung tissues during immune responses such as SARS‐CoV‐2 infection.

Kaposi's sarcoma (KS) is a highly vascular tumour, which was first described by the Hungarian dermatologist Moritz Kaposi Kohn before the discovery of the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). Historically, KS has been linked to immunosuppression or to elderly male patients, especially in relation to diffuse cutaneous KS.

The Association of Pretransplant CD4 Count With Post‐Kidney Transplant Infectious Outcomes Among Persons With HIV

In this multi‐center study comparing persons with HIV with pre‐kidney transplant CD4 < 350 cells/µL to those with ≥ 350 cells/µL, we found no difference in relative risk of infection in the first year‐post kidney transplant, 5‐year graft survival, and 5‐year overall survival.
