Delineating Marine Planktonic Habitats Through the Biogeochemical‐Argo Array Data

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Oceans, Volume 131, Issue 2, February 2026.
Abstract Phytoplankton play a crucial role in regulating marine biogeochemical pathways but studying their spatial and temporal dynamics often requires extensive and laborious oceanographic expeditions. Here, we report a novel use of Biogeochemical‐Argo data to delineate planktonic habitats in the Tropical North Atlantic Ocean (TNA).

Reduced Future Summer Water Availability in the Tien Shan Due To Glacier Wastage

open access: yesWater Resources Research, Volume 62, Issue 2, February 2026.
Abstract Glaciers in the Tien Shan mountains of Central Asia are a crucial source of freshwater for agriculture and local communities, sustaining over 100 million people in the region. Here, we project future water availability for this region by dynamically modeling the evolution of all glaciers and merging their runoff with hydrological runoff ...

Multiple signalling increases both prey response and diversity in a carnivorous pitcher plant

open access: yesFunctional Ecology, Volume 40, Issue 2, Page 451-462, February 2026.
Read the free Plain Language Summary for this article on the Journal blog. Abstract Organisms across the tree of life use multiple signals such as colour, movement sound, and many types of chemical signals to convey seemingly the same information. These signals are potentially costly, yet the repeated evolution of multiple signalling across systems ...
