Multidimensional assessment and precision restoration strategies for soil erosion in karst areas: Based on multi-scenario simulation

open access: yesInternational Journal of Sediment Research
Karst landscapes are plagued by severe soil erosion due to their fractured lithology and complex hydrology, posing persistent challenges to erosion assessment and ecological restoration.

Inventory of karstic cavities of the Schisto-Calcaire Group, Republic of the Congo: Applying a geoheritage promotion approach in the Madingou region

open access: yesInternational Journal of Geoheritage and Parks
Karst systems are increasingly recognized as valuable geoheritage sites. Although Africa hosts numerous karst landscapes, few countries maintain comprehensive inventories.

Desertification Assessment Using the Modified Mediterranean Desertification and Land Use Model in a Karst Plateau

open access: yesGeosciences
Desertification is among the most severe environmental problems in many countries at present, and threatens the integrity of natural environments and the sustainability of related natural resources.

Influence mechanism of calcium on soil organic nitrogen mineralization during calcareous soil evolvement in karst areas

open access: yesCarsologica Sinica
Nitrogen (N) is an essential nutrient element for the normal growth and development of plants, and the major factor affecting the primary productivity of most terrestrial ecosystems.

Impact of soil hydrology on the hydrological recharge of karst regions - A model approach

open access: yes, 2019
Precipitation is a major natural control on the amount of karst groundwater resources. However, not all amount of precipitation in karst regions results in aquifer recharge, since evapotranspiration uses significant hydrological resources. We have developed a soil model that quantifies the recharge at different sites in Slovenia and Croatia.

Estimating Lake–Groundwater Exchange Using Hourly Water Level Fluctuations in Central Florida

open access: yesLimnological Review
With mounting anthropogenic pressures on groundwater supplies, practical methods for quantifying lake–groundwater exchange are critical for water resources management.

Hydrological Signatures of Karst Basins

open access: yes, 2021
Karst areas are ubiquitous worldwide and cover 20 % of Europe land surface. Physico-chemical properties of karst rocks promote surface water / groundwater interactions and thus favor specific flood processes at the catchment scale: fast infiltration, groundwater flooding, and interbasin groundwater flows (IGF).

How Global Atmospheric Circulation Indirectly Influences Streamflow Variations in Karst Basin Through Rainfall

open access: yesWater Resources Research
Global climate change has profoundly influenced atmospheric circulation systems, with frequent heavy rainfall events crucial in determining long‐term hydrological trends.
