Karst rocky desertification information extraction with EO-1 Hyperion data

SPIE Proceedings, 2008
Karst rocky desertification is a special kind of land desertification developed under violent human impacts on the vulnerable eco-geo-environment of karst ecosystem. The process of karst rocky desertification results in simultaneous and complex variations of many interrelated soil, rock and vegetation biogeophysical parameters, rendering it difficult

Geometric morphology and soil properties of shallow karst fissures in an area of karst rocky desertification in SW China

CATENA, 2019
Abstract Serious soil erosion and an extremely low rate of soil formation leads to a thin layer of surface soil that makes tree growth difficult in areas of karst. Meanwhile, surface soil, driven by runoff, enters shallow karst fissures (SKFs); these SKFs filled with soil have become the major habitat type in the area.

[Application potential of bryophyte soil crust on the control of karst rocky desertification].

Ying yong sheng tai xue bao = The journal of applied ecology, 2019
Karst regions in southwest China are facing serious ecological problems, among which rocky desertification is the most serious one that is urgent to be controlled by more efficient and sustainable ways. We summarized the stress resistance of bryophyte, and the positive effects of bryophyte soil crust on soil stability, soil erosion resistance, soil ...
