Electrical Imaging of Faults in Karst Water Explorations

Near Surface 2004 - 10th EAGE European Meeting of Environmental and Engineering Geophysics, 2004
Geophysical methods play a major role in hydrogeological explorations due to the fact that they enable, through the combination with other data, the obtaining of a reliable forecasting model and the detection of new drinking water resources. However, in order to exploit water and protect the sources (wells) in an appropriate manner, it is necessary to ...

Physical Behavior of Karst Water

1980
Hydrostatics and Hydrodynamics determine the flpw-behavior of subterranean water. Since the shape of caves and of rock surfaces defies quanrtitave description in physical or geometrical terms, hydrodynamics may only be summarily considered (for more detail see Prandtl, 1969).

Water in karst - measurements and calculations

2018
A wide range of closed surface depressions, a well-developed underground drainage system, and strong interaction between circulation of surface water and groundwater typify karst. Due to very high infiltration rates, especially in bare karst, overland and surface flow is rare in comparison with non-karst terrains.
