List of Zooplankton Taxa in the Caspian Sea Waters of Iran

open access: yesJournal of Marine Sciences, Volume 2013, Issue 1, 2013., 2013
A total of 61 zooplankton taxa were found in the southwestern Caspian Sea between 1996 and 2010. Thirteen of them were meroplankton taxa and forty‐eight were holoplankton taxa. The occurrence of 14 freshwater taxa indicated the influence of the Anzali wetland and river inflows. The decrease in zooplankton taxa was detected since 1996‐1997 and continued

Laser‐Induced Defects in a Bulk GaAs Used as an Output Coupler in an Nd : YAG Laser Cavity

open access: yesJournal of Atomic and Molecular Physics, Volume 2011, Issue 1, 2011., 2011
By using bulk GaAs as an output coupler as well as a saturable absorber, with changing of concentration of defects inside the laser cavity, Q‐switching of flashlamp‐pumped Nd : YAG laser has been studied. It is shown that the formation of the laser pulses, in a wide range of duration, which were reported in a lot of previous papers is caused by the ...

Discretized representations of harmonic variables by bilateral Jacobi operators

open access: yesDiscrete Dynamics in Nature and Society, Volume 4, Issue 4, Page 297-308, 2000., 2000
Starting from a discrete Heisenberg algebra we solve several representation problems for a discretized quantum oscillator in a weighted sequence space. The Schrödinger operator for a discrete harmonic oscillator is derived. The representation problem for a q‐oscillator algebra is studied in detail.

Identifying the Inverse Force Problem for the Beam Equation With Boundary Conditions at a Single Point in Space or Time

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
We analyze an inverse force problem that involves identifying a source term in a one‐dimensional fourth‐order beam equation depending on either space or time. Mixed boundary conditions and an overdetermination condition based on a single point in space or time address the problem.

Prognostic factors in bushfire‐affected koalas–Kangaroo Island bushfire response 2020

open access: yesAustralian Veterinary Journal, Volume 103, Issue 8, Page 453-463, August 2025.
This study presents a retrospective analysis of clinical records data from koalas presenting for treatment following the large‐scale bushfire event on Kangaroo Island 2019–2020. The aim of the study was to identify prognostic factors for koalas affected by bushfire. Koalas (n = 199) were grouped based on their burn status in combination with their burn

Dominance of Vaccine‐Specific Chlamydia pecorum ompA Genotypes in Koalas From North‐Eastern Australia

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 15, Issue 3, March 2025.
The comprehensive dataset, including full‐length ompA sequences from over 220 samples, provides a unique look at the geographical spread and temporal stability of Chlamydia pecorum. Our analysis not only underscores the prevalence of vaccine‐specific genotypes but also highlights the emergence of novel genotypes and their potential implications for ...

Seismic Signatures of Fluctuating Fragmentation in Volcanic Eruptions

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, Volume 130, Issue 1, January 2025.
Abstract Fragmentation plays a critical role in eruption explosivity by influencing the eruptive jet and plume dynamics that may initiate hazards such as pyroclastic flows. The mechanics and progression of fragmentation during an eruption are challenging to constrain observationally, limiting our understanding of this important process.

The past and future of the study of Islamic esotericism

open access: yesReligion Compass, Volume 18, Issue 7, July 2024.
Abstract The study of Islamic esotericism, particularly the concept of al‐bāṭiniyya, remains fragmented. While often studied under various labels like “mysticism” and “occultism,” it is widely equated to Sufism. Scholars still hesitate to use the term al‐bāṭiniyya due to its historical pejorative connotations, linking it to extremist adherence to ...
