Abstract Allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HCT) remains the only potential curative therapeutic modality for advanced myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS). Within HCT, the advancement of cord blood transplantation (CBT) procedures has resulted in a drastic expansion of CBT as a donor source for MDS.
