The Effect of Land Fragmentation on Risk and Technical Efficiency of Austrian Crop Farms
ABSTRACT Using a 2007–2014 panel of Austrian crop farms, we analyse the effect of multiple dimensions of land fragmentation on farms' production efficiency and risk performance. We use data envelopment analysis (DEA), a non‐parametric linear programming approach, to estimate efficiencies.

Spontaneous closure of patent ductus arteriosus after an episode of Kawasaki disease: a case report
Introduction Kawasaki disease is regarded as systemic vasculitis. Many experts believe that not only coronary arteries but also other small arteries are involved during the period of systemic inflammation. However, the evidence to support this point view

The 15‐Year Survival Advantage: Immune Resilience as a Salutogenic Force in Healthy Aging
Human aging shows puzzling diversity: similar aging rates yet vastly different health outcomes. Our study of ~17,500 people revealed a health‐promoting trait (more common in women) linked to strong immune resilience and high expression of TCF7, a key immune gene. This trait enables individuals to fight infections like COVID‐19 more effectively, respond

Epidemiology of diagnostic errors in pediatric emergency departments using electronic triggers
Abstract Objectives We applied three electronic triggers to study frequency and contributory factors of missed opportunities for improving diagnosis (MOIDs) in pediatric emergency departments (EDs): return visits within 10 days resulting in admission (Trigger 1), care escalation within 24 h of ED presentation (Trigger 2), and death within 24 h of ED ...

A note on equilibrium Glauber and Kawasaki dynamics for permanental point processes [PDF]
We construct two types of equilibrium dynamics of an infinite particle system in a locally compact metric space $X$ for which a permanental point process is a symmetrizing, and hence invariant measure. The Glauber dynamics is a birth-and-death process in $X$, while in the Kawasaki dynamics interacting particles randomly hop over $X$.

Impact of COVID‐19 on paediatric care in Japan: Analysis of national health insurance claims data
Abstract Aim To quantify the impact of the COVID‐19 pandemic on paediatric care use compared to adult care and identify affected subdomains. Methods Data from the National Database of Health Insurance Claims and Specific Health Checkups of Japan (NDB) for six fiscal years (FY2016‐2021) were analysed.

Optimal periodic structures with general space group symmetries in the Ohta-Kawasaki problem [PDF]
We consider the problem of rigorously computing periodic minimizers to the Ohta-Kawasaki energy. We develop a method to prove existence of solutions and determine rigorous bounds on the distance between our numerical approximations and the true infinite dimensional solution and also on the energy.
