Charge transport and discharge mechanism in (PVC+KClO3) polymer electrolyte films

Journal of Physics and Chemistry of Solids, 2008
Abstract This paper presents results of the studies on ionic conductivity and transference number measurements on potassium chlorate (KClO 3 ) complexed polyvinyl chloride (PVC) films prepared by solution-cast technique. Temperature dependence of ionic conductivity and transference number data indicated the dominance of ion-type charge transport in ...

Structure and electronic properties of Na2O2/NaClO4(001), K2O/KClO3(001) systems

Journal of Structural Chemistry, 2015
Within a slab model the systems of oxygen-containing compounds are investigated. The geometry and the electronic structure are determined for Na2O2/NaClO4(001), K2O/KClO3(001) systems using the CRYSTAL09 program package. Parameters of the atomic structure, bond populations, atomic charges, energy distributions, and interaction energies are calculated ...

Focused-microwave-induced combustion: investigation of KClO3 thermal decomposition as O2 source

Analytical Methods, 2011
Potassium chlorate is proposed here as a chemical source of O2 in focused-microwave-induced combustion. The thermal decomposition of this compound generates enough O2 to maintain the combustion and participate in gas phase reactions responsible for HNO3 regeneration. An animal feed concentrate is the reference material and test sample used.

Oxidation of powder and ceramic UO2 by KClO3 in molten (Li–Na–K)2CO3 eutectic

Journal of the Chemical Society, Faraday Transactions, 1998
The oxidation of UO2 powder and ceramic has been studied in the (Li–Na–K)2CO3 eutectic melt containing added potassium chlorate between 723 and 873 K. Complete oxidation of the powder could be achieved at 723 K and with KClO3:UO2 mole ratios between 0.25 and 0.3. Potassium monouranate was formed in the reaction and no chlorine was liberated.

Interdiffusion Coefficients, Densities, and Viscosities of KNO2 + H2O and KClO3 + H2O at 25 .degree.C

Journal of Chemical & Engineering Data, 1995
Interdiffusion coefficients of the systems KNO 2 + H 2 O and KClO 3 + H 2 O at 25 °C were measured by free-diffusion optical-interferometric methods from low concentrations to near saturation. Density and viscosity data were also obtained for these systems.

Oxygen evolution from potassium chlorate (KClO3) catalyzed by metal oxides as air bag inflators

Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research, 1991
23 kinds of metal oxides were employed as catalysts for the decomposition of potassium chlorate. These metal oxides were classified into 3 groups, depending upon the catalytic performance; in the first group are transition-metal oxides, which can decompose the chlorate around 380 o C.

Influence of point defects on the nuclear quadrupole resonance of 35Cl in KClO3 and NaClO3

Journal of Physics and Chemistry of Solids, 1975
Abstract The nuclear quadrupole resonance of 35 Cl was studied in γ-irradiated NaClO 3 single crystals and in polycrystalline KClO 3 and NaClO 3 doped with the substitutional impurities Rb + and Ag + , BrO 3 − respectively. The measurements were carried out at 78° and 298°K.

Identification of the O3− radical ion in x-irradiated KClO3

Chemical Physics Letters, 1969
Abstract ESR spectra at 770K of an X-irradiated 17O-enriched KClO3 single crystal show formation of the O−3 radical ion. At all orientations the radical was trapped at one magnetic site only. Two different 17O hyperfine splittings were observed.
