Recursive kernel density estimators under missing data
In this paper we propose an automatic bandwidth selection of the recursive kernel density estimators with missing data in the context of global and local density estimation.

KDE Bioscience: Platform for bioinformatics analysis workflows
Bioinformatics is a dynamic research area in which a large number of algorithms and programs have been developed rapidly and independently without much consideration so far of the need for standardization. The lack of such common standards combined with unfriendly interfaces make it difficult for biologists to learn how to use these tools and to ...

Nonparametric Inference via Bootstrapping the Debiased Estimator
In this paper, we propose to construct confidence bands by bootstrapping the debiased kernel density estimator (for density estimation) and the debiased local polynomial regression estimator (for regression analysis).

A Novel Flexible Kernel Density Estimator for Multimodal Probability Density Functions
Estimating probability density functions (PDFs) is critical in data analysis, particularly for complex multimodal distributions. traditional kernel density estimator (KDE) methods often face challenges in accurately capturing multimodal structures due to

Hunters like skewness, not risk: evidence of gambling behaviors in the Alaska hunting permit lottery [PDF]
Thesis (M.S.) University of Alaska Fairbanks, 2018In Alaska, hunting permits are distributed by traditional lottery. The absence of a preference point system means that applicants have little invested in their applications, and there are a variety of ...

Manipulation Robustness of Collaborative Filtering Systems
A collaborative filtering system recommends to users products that similar users like. Collaborative filtering systems influence purchase decisions, and hence have become targets of manipulation by unscrupulous vendors.

KDE spike-phase and history models
Here you will find a series of scripts and functions to fit spike-phase models and spike histories. Phase models rely on fitting kernel density estimators to the distribution of rhythmic phase values that coincide with a neuron's spikes. The kernel bandwidth is optimized via cross-validation. History models are fit via logistic regression.
