Improved Chemical Retting of Kenaf Fibers
Textile Research Journal, 2002Moldable nonwoven fabrics for automotive applications make up a large market, but they are currently made from synthetic fibers that are not easily biodegraded. Incorpo rating kenaf fibers into automotive nonwovens may enhance their biodegradability, while imparting improved acoustical insulation and reducing vehicle weight (kenaf fiber density is 1.4 ...

Kenaf fiber‐reinforced copolyester biocomposites
Polymer Composites, 2011AbstractIn this study the morphology and properties of a biodegradable aliphatic–aromatic copolyester mixed with kenaf fiber were investigated. Untreated kenaf fiber, as well as kenaf fiber treated with NaOH, and with NaOH followed by silane coupling agent treatment at various concentrations, were used as fillers in the composites.
