Born this way: Does variation in perinatal limb bone morphology predict adult locomotor repertoire in primates?

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Primates show a high degree of locomotor diversity that engenders similar variance in limb bone cross‐sectional geometry and bending strength: leaping primates have stronger hindlimb bones whereas suspensory species have stronger forelimb bones.

A General Workflow for Tangential Flow Filtration Perfusion Scale‐Up

open access: yesBiotechnology and Bioengineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Tangential flow filtration (TFF) perfusion using hollow‐fiber modules offers substantial advantages over other mammalian cell retention technologies. Recently, increased awareness of Starling flow has helped to enhance filtration performance to similar, or even higher levels compared to alternative technologies.

How Do Energy Prices, Financial Conditions, and ESG‐Related Uncertainty Shape Energy Efficiency in the United States? Evidence From Wavelet Quantile Regression

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Improving energy efficiency is a central pillar of climate mitigation strategies, energy security, and sustainable economic growth, particularly in energy‐intensive economies such as the United States. This study investigates the nonlinear and distribution‐dependent effects of energy prices, financial conditions, economic policy uncertainty ...

Copula‐based joint modelling of emergency department visits with time‐varying dependence

open access: yesCanadian Journal of Statistics, EarlyView.
Abstract Jointly modelling multiple correlated count time series is essential in health services research, where outcomes like emergency visits for mental health and substance use often evolve together. Ignoring these dependencies can obscure meaningful trends and limit the effectiveness of policy evaluation.

Vine copula knockoffs for variable selection in gene expression studies

open access: yesCanadian Journal of Statistics, EarlyView.
Abstract Identifying clinical and genetic markers is essential for stratifying cancer patients by survival outcomes and guiding personalized treatment strategies. However, gene expression studies often involve high‐dimensional predictors with mixed data types and complex dependence, which complicates reliable variable selection.

Spatiotemporal cellular dynamics of the notochord shape intervertebral disc morphogenesis in the mouse embryo through apoptosis and proliferation

open access: yesDevelopmental Dynamics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background The notochord is a midline structure essential for vertebrate embryogenesis, contributing to the development of the nervous system, digestive tract, and vertebral column. In particular, notochord signaling is indispensable for proper patterning and coordinated development of alternating vertebrae and intervertebral discs (IVDs ...

Changes in Comorbid Obsessive‐Compulsive and Restrictive Eating Disorder Symptoms in Eating Disorder Focused Family Therapy

open access: yesInternational Journal of Eating Disorders, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Restrictive eating disorders (EDs) are highly comorbid with obsessive‐compulsive disorder (OCD), and comorbidity is associated with worsened outcomes. However, it is unclear if (1) Maudsley family therapy (FT‐AN) for restrictive EDs reduces comorbid OCD symptoms, and (2) if higher baseline OCD symptoms merely reflect higher severity ...

Sensitivity and Criterion Validity of ED100K Lifetime Eating Disorder Diagnoses: A Study Using a National Eating Disorder Quality Register

open access: yesInternational Journal of Eating Disorders, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Epidemiological and genomic studies of eating disorders (ED) require scalable approaches to case ascertainment. The self‐report ED100K questionnaire assesses lifetime ED diagnoses, has been translated into several languages, and has been used in large cohort studies, with data shared or planned for sharing through major repositories
