Basal Plane Activation of SnS2 Thin‐Film by Fluorine Doping for Selective Solar‐Driven CO2 Reduction With Enhanced Quantum Efficiency

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The synergistic effect of fluorine doping and sulfur vacancies boosts the activity of the active sites without active‐site modulation, leading to enhanced CO2 photoreduction efficiency and a selectivity switch from CH4 to CO on tin disulfide continuous thin films. ABSTRACT Photocatalytic conversion of CO2 into value‐added fuels offers a viable approach

Breaking the Durability–Power Trade‐Off: Boron‐Directed Faceted O3 Cathodes for High‐Rate Sodium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Boron‐oxide‐assisted particle engineering stabilizes O3‐type layered cathodes for sodium‐ion batteries by mitigating phase transitions and lattice strain. Acting as flux and structural modifier, boron forms submicron hexagonal platelets with (003) facets and expanded Na‐layer spacing, enabling rapid Na⁺ diffusion and mechanical resilience.

Might quantum-induced deviations from the Einstein equations detectably affect gravitational wave propagation?

open access: yes, 2013
A quantum measurement-like event can produce any of a number of macroscopically distinct results, with corresponding macroscopically distinct gravitational fields, from the same initial state. Hence the probabilistically evolving large-scale structure of

Temperature and Farm Labor in Nigeria

open access: yesApplied Economic Perspectives and Policy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We estimate the impact of temperature shocks on the composition of farm labor in rural Nigeria using a nationally representative household panel survey. Leveraging plausibly exogenous year‐to‐year variation in growing season temperatures, we find that warmer temperatures significantly alter farm labor composition, prompting a substantial shift

Probing the Cause of Capacity Fade in Large‐Format Li‐Ion Pouch Cells through Multimodal Characterization

open access: yesAdvanced Energy and Sustainability Research, EarlyView.
A comprehensive multimodal characterization of two end‐of‐life cells from a retired Nissan Leaf battery pack, subjected to accelerated aging to mimic extended use in second‐life applications shows that electrolyte degradation and loss is a more critical contributor to cell degradation toward the knee‐point in these cells than degradation of the ...
