Keratocystic Odontogenic Tumor
Oncology Treatment Discovery, 2023The keratocystic odontogenic tumor (KOT) is a lesion that requires special considerations because of its clinical behavior and its specific histopathological aspects. The present study aims to show a case of KOT with its radiographic and histopathological features. In this study a 43-year-old female patient presented with a unilocular radiolucent image

Genetic Changes in Sporadic Keratocystic Odontogenic Tumors (Odontogenic Keratocysts)
Journal of Dental Research, 2007Little is known about the genetic background of keratocystic odontogenic tumors (KCOT, odontogenic keratocysts). Our aim was to characterize genomic aberrations in sporadic KCOT using cDNA-expression arrays and array-comparative genomic hybridization. For cDNA-expression arrays, 10 KCOT specimens and 20 fetal tooth germs were studied.

KERATOCYSTIC ODONTOGENIC TUMOR- A REVIEW
INDIAN JOURNAL OF APPLIED RESEARCH, 2023Introduction: Philipsen in 1956 rst described a cyst of the jaws lined by keratinizing epithelium. This was known as odontogenic keratocyst. It is now more appropriately named as Keratocystic Odontogenic Tumor(KCOT) because of it's tumor like behaviour.

The Keratocystic Odontogenic Tumor
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Clinics of North America, 2013In 2005, the World Health Organization renamed the lesion previously known as an odontogenic keratocyst as the keratocystic odontogenic tumor. The clinical features associated with the keratocystic odontogenic tumor show it to be a unilocular or multilocular radiolucency, occurring most frequently in the posterior mandible.

[Studies on keratocystic odontogenic tumors].
Beijing da xue xue bao. Yi xue ban = Journal of Peking University. Health sciences, 2010Keratocystic odontogenic tumors (KCOTs, previously known as odontogenic keratocysts) are aggressive, noninflammatory jaw lesions with a putative high growth potential and a propensity for recurrence. This article puts together a summary of the serial studies related to KCOTs undertaken by the author's research group in recent years.

CEA immunoreactivity in odontogenic tumors and keratocysts
Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, 1988Forty-five oral tumors and cysts were stained immunohistochemically for the presence of carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA). CEA, or a CEA-like antigen that is not nonspecific cross-reacting antigen (NCA), was demonstrated in the majority of aggressive or malignant tumors showing squamous differentiation, including cases of ameloblastoma, odontogenic ...

Keratocystic Odontogenic Tumor: A Case Report

Recurrent Keratocystic Odontogenic Tumor After Effective Decompression
Journal of Craniofacial Surgery, 2016Keratocystic odontogenic tumor (KCOT) has potential aggressive and infiltrative behavior. Decompression has been widely preferred for large KCOTs due to safety and lower recurrence rates. However, KCOT is still likely to recur even after effective decompression.

The odontogenic keratocyst: A benign cystic tumor?
Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, 1984Three hundred nineteen odontogenic keratocysts from 255 patients (167 males and 88 females, a 2:1 ratio) were histologically and clinically examined. The cysts sometimes occurred as multiple or recurrent lesions or in association with Gorlin's syndrome. The rate of recurrence for the total population was 27%.
