Bending of kerf chiral fractal lattice metamaterials [PDF]

open access: yesComposite Structures, 2023
We describe the out-of-plane bending of kerf chiral fractal lattices metamaterials by using a combination of theoretical models, full-scale finite elements and experimental tests representing the flexural behaviour of metamaterial beams under three-point bending. Good agreement is observed between the three sets of results.

Multiscale Carbon‐Integrated Silicon Anode for Stable Cycling Under Practical Lithium‐Ion Battery Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
To overcome silicon anode instability, a hierarchical silicon/carbon composite fabricated from industrial waste via a scalable milling process is demonstrated. In‐depth post‐mortem analysis reveals how functional carbons—a CNT network and graphene shell—synergistically suppress degradation. This robust design delivers outstanding stability in practical

Effect of Pressure, Feed Rate, and Abrasive Mass Flow Rate on Water Jet Cutting Efficiency When Cutting Recombinant Bamboo

open access: yesBioResources, 2014
The impact of varying pressure, feed rate, and abrasive mass flow rate on the efficiency of an abrasive water jet cutting process was studied in this work. Recombinant bamboo samples with thicknesses of 5, 10, and 15 mm were cut by the abrasive water jet.
