Rat mammary carcinogenesis following neutron- or X-radiation [PDF]
Female 61 to 63 - day - old Sprague-Dawley rats were exposed once to a single dose of either 0.43 - MeV neutrons or 250 - kVX - rays . For neutrons 23 rats were exposed in plastic tubes rotated around and 31 c m from a water-cooled tritium impregnated ...

Two Central Nervous System Tumors in One Catheter Lab: Time to Rethink Radiation Protection
ABSTRACT Background Very little research has been done on the possible effects that repeated, frequent, and low‐dose ionizing radiation exposure has on the long‐term health of interventional cardiologists. Aims Following the diagnosis in the same year of two central nervous system tumors in two operators working in the same catheter laboratory, we ...

Patient Dose Optimisation of Abdominopelvic Protocols During X‐Ray Imaging
This study evaluates organ doses in abdominopelvic radiography for both erect and supine positions, addressing dose optimisation concerns in Ghana. Using CalDose X and thermoluminescence dosimeters, organ doses and image quality were analysed, revealing significant dose reductions with optimised exposure parameters (70 kVp, 10 mAs, 110 cm FDD).

Reducing radiation exposure to staff performing coronary angiography and intervention is an occupational health and safety priority for hospitals. We demonstrate that a larger lead acrylic shield, with lead rubber pleats on the lower edge will reduce radiation exposure to the cardiologist performing the procedure by approximately 40%. We recommend that

Sorghum is a staple food for hundreds of millions of people in dry regions worldwide, and improving its nutritional quality is vital for global food and health security under climate change. In this study, we evaluated traditional Sudanese sorghum varieties grown in eastern deltas to better understand their natural health‐promoting properties. We found

Abstract Purpose To develop a dose estimation method for virtual monoenergetic images (VMIs) derived from sequential dual‐energy (DE) cone‐beam computed tomography (CBCT), enhancing image quality while reducing imaging dose. The goal is to generate VMIs with lower imaging dose than standard CBCT for future clinical applications.
