γ-Cycles In Arc-Colored Digraphs

open access: yesDiscussiones Mathematicae Graph Theory, 2016
We call a digraph D an m-colored digraph if the arcs of D are colored with m colors. A directed path (or a directed cycle) is called monochromatic if all of its arcs are colored alike.

On the spin-rotation-gravity coupling [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
The inertial and gravitational properties of intrinsic spin are discussed and some of the recent work in this area is briefly reviewed. The extension of relativistic wave equations to accelerated systems and gravitational fields is critically examined. A

Simultaneous Feedback Edge Set: A Parameterized Perspective [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
In a recent article Agrawal et al. (STACS 2016) studied a simultaneous variant of the classic Feedback Vertex Set problem, called Simultaneous Feedback Vertex Set (Sim-FVS).

An atom interferometer enabled by spontaneous decay [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
We investigate the question whether Michelson type interferometry is possible if the role of the beam splitter is played by a spontaneous process. This question arises from an inspection of trajectories of atoms bouncing inelastically from an evanescent ...

Kernelization and Sparseness: the case of Dominating Set [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We prove that for every positive integer $r$ and for every graph class $\mathcal G$ of bounded expansion, the $r$-Dominating Set problem admits a linear kernel on graphs from $\mathcal G$.

Synthetic LISA: Simulating Time Delay Interferometry in a Model LISA

open access: yes, 2004
We report on three numerical experiments on the implementation of Time-Delay Interferometry (TDI) for LISA, performed with Synthetic LISA, a C++/Python package that we developed to simulate the LISA science process at the level of scientific and ...

Thermal limitation of far-field matter-wave interference [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We assess the effect of the heat radiation emitted by mesoscopic particles on their ability to show interference in a double slit arrangement. The analysis is based on a stationary, phase-space based description of matter wave interference in the ...

Detection of Coherent Vorticity Structures using Time-Scale Resolved Acoustic Spectroscopy

open access: yes, 1998
We describe here an experimental technique based on the acoustic scattering phenomenon allowing the direct probing of the vorticity field in a turbulent flow.

Ultrabroadband Excitation of Hot Carriers in Plasmonic Nanorods Revealed by Two‐Dimensional Electronic Spectroscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
This work dissects the ultrafast response of polydisperse plasmonic nanorods using two‐dimensional electronic spectroscopy, uniquely combining temporal and spectral resolution. Our ultrabroadband pulses cover both transverse and longitudinal nanorods’ resonances, revealing sub‐200‐fs dynamics and distinct broadening mechanisms.

Nonlinear coherent transport of waves in disordered media

open access: yes, 2007
We present a diagrammatic theory for coherent backscattering from disordered dilute media in the nonlinear regime. The approach is non-perturbative in the strength of the nonlinearity.
