A digital twin framework is presented for modular soft continuum arms built from fiber‐reinforced pneumatic actuators. Cosserat rod models describe individual actuators, while virtual assemblies are formed through serial and parallel networks, preserving actuator‐level architecture and arm deformation.

Optimum design of brake friction material using hybrid entropy-GRA approach
The effect of Kevlar and natural fibres on the performance of brake friction materials was evaluated. Four friction material specimens were developed by varying the proportion of Kevlar and natural fibres.

KEVLAR-TZ: A Secure Cache for ARM TrustZone
Edge devices are increasingly in charge of storing privacy-sensitive data, in particular implantables, wearables, and nearables can potentially collect and process high-resolution vital signs 24/7. Storing and performing computations over such data in a privacy-preserving fashion is of paramount importance.

Moisture uptake by kevlar fibres [PDF]
Detailed observations are reported for the effects of relative humidity (RH) of the ambient atmosphere on moisture uptake by Kevlar 49 fibers. The structural misalignment of polymer chains about the fiber axis when Kevlar fibers are exposed to thermal ...

Continuous and Large‐Scale: ELEANOR, the Soft Architected Arm Inspired by the Elephant Trunk
A large‐scale, architected continuum robot inspired by the macroscopic properties of the African elephant trunk achieves adaptive elephant‐like movements and whole‐body grasping. The results demonstrate that designing from the natural system’s macroscopic properties, rather than prescribing behaviors, provides a powerful strategy for developing ...

A comparative study on laminated and randomly oriented Luffa-Kevlar Reinforced hybrid composites
In this article, an investigation has been carried out to hybridize Luffa (L) and Kevlar (K) for the first instant. Three laminated and three randomly oriented samples were fabricated with LL, LK, and KK combination.

Laser Cutting of Kevlar Laminates, [PDF]
An investigation has been conducted of the use of laser energy for cutting contours, diameters, and holes in flat and shaped Kevlar 49 fiber-reinforced epoxy laminates as an alternate to conventional machining. The investigation has shown that flat laminates 6.35 mm thick may be cut without backup by using a high-powered (1000-watt) continuous wave CO ...
