THE INTERACTION BETWEEN TEMPERATURE HUMIDITY INDEX AND SOME HEALTH PARAMETERS OF SHEEP UNDER THE EGYPTIAN OASIS ENVIRONMENT [PDF]

open access: yesAssiut Veterinary Medical Journal, 2006
Darb Al-Arbain is a virgin area and represents the southern boundary of the Egyptian oasis depression. It considers one of the most promising areas for agricultural expansion in Egypt.

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

SOME STUDIES ON THE MALE REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM AND SERUM BIOCHEMICAL PARAMETERS OF THE EGYPTIAN FOX SPECIES [PDF]

open access: yesAssiut Veterinary Medical Journal, 1996
Basic male reproductive anatomy was studied in eleven alive foxes captured from Sinai desert, representing three species of the foxes 5 adult red foxes (Vulpes vulpes), 5 immature sand foxes (Vulpes ruppellii) and one immature fennec fox (Fennecus zerda).

Salmonella lipopolysaccharide‐containing supported lipid bilayers as platforms to study bacteriophage interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

Modelling stem cell differentiation related processes—A practical overview for biologists

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Stem cell differentiation is complex and difficult to control experimentally. This review introduces suitable computational modelling approaches that can support stem cell research, from mechanistic ODE and abstract models to multiscale and deep learning methods.

What makes a good pollinator? Abundant and specialised insects with long flight periods transport the most strawberry pollen

open access: yesEcological Solutions and Evidence, 2023
Despite the importance of insect pollination to produce marketable fruits, insect pollination management is limited by insufficient knowledge about key crop pollinator species. This lack of knowledge is due in part to (1) the extensive labour involved in

Design and analysis strategies for robust microbiome ageing research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The gut microbiome changes with age and associates with age‐related morbidity and mortality, establishing it as a potential biomarker and intervention target for ageing. Realising this potential requires methodological rigour, yet distinguishing biological signals from methodological artefacts remains challenging across cohorts. This review provides an

A NOTE ON SOME HAEMATOLOGICAL AND SERUM CHEMICAL VALUES FOR CAPTIVE DORCAS GAZELLE (GAZELLA DORCAS) IN SUDAN [PDF]

open access: yesAssiut Veterinary Medical Journal, 2013
Some hematological and biochemical parameters were determined in blood specimens collected from clinically healthy Dorcas gazelles (Gazella dorcas) bred in captivity in large enclosed areas in Khartoum State, Sudan.

Key Parameters for the Analysis Stage of Internationalization of Operations

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Operations & Production Management, 2018
In this paper, we identify the key parameters to consider in a decision model on internationalization of operations. In order to propose these parameters, the GLOBOPE framework was adopted as the basis of this work. This framework contemplates the three commonest challenges of global operations configuration for industrial manufacturing companies in an

Decoding the dynamic extracellular matrix in cancer—3D models and bioscaffolds rewire the rules of tumor progression

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cancer progression is regulated by the dynamic matrix code of the tumor microenvironment, which influences cellular behavior and disease development. Importantly, matrix remodeling in three‐dimensional cancer models more accurately reflects in vivo conditions compared to conventional two‐dimensional systems.
