Glazing Effects on Dynamic‐Insulation TSC Façades: A CFD‐Supported Experimental Study of Flow, Heat Transfer, and Ventilation Preheating

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
Glazed transpired solar collectors achieve 48–75% efficiency and 11% more seasonal heat than unglazed designs by cutting convective losses, while both offer complementary benefits for ventilation preheating and dynamic wall insulation, with paybacks of 5.5–6.8 years.

Establishment and characterization of a cell line (KGK) derived from human oral squamous cell carcinoma.

open access: yesJapanese Journal of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, 1993
A new tumor cell line designated KGK was established from a metastatic submandibular lymph node of a patient who had a gingival squamous cell carcinoma. It has been continuously subcultured 350 passages during 6 years and 2 months. KGK cells showed a polygonal shape and grew in multiple layers without contact inhibition.

Experimental and Numerical Investigation of Cedar Façade Flame Spread With Respect to Sidewall

open access: yesFire and Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In response to growing energy conservation and carbon neutrality efforts, façade systems incorporating wooden materials have attracted increasing attention, which in turn raises concerns about their combustibility. This study presents a combined experimental and numerical investigation of flame spread along cedar façades.

An Experimental Investigation on the Impact of Burner Height and Location on the Characteristics of Externally Venting Flames

open access: yesFire and Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Fire sources in actual compartment fires exhibit a predominantly uneven spatial distribution. In this context, the impact of the height and location of the fire source, as well as the heat release rate (HRR) of the fire, on the thermal characteristics of Externally Venting Flames (EVF) is experimentally investigated.

A Krasznokvajdai mikrotérség lakosságának közlekedési szokásai

Effect of Microchannel Geometry on Nanoparticle Deposition in Nanofluid Flow

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical Methods in Fluids, EarlyView.
This study numerically analyzed nanoparticle deposition in microchannels with varying geometries. Deposition per unit area decreases significantly with increasing bend angle (28.612 to 8.941 between 30° and 120°) and bend radius (11.922 to 4.769 between 0.2 and 0.4 mm). Acute bends and small radii enhance centrifugal forces and flow separation, leading

New Thermal Lattice Boltzmann Method for Modeling Heat Transfer Problems Considering Temperature‐Dependent Properties

open access: yesHeat Transfer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Several engineering problems involve the need to model conjugate heat transfer processes considering the temperature‐dependence of the material properties. Consequently, a simulation tool capable of modeling this process is of great interest. In this context, the present work proposes a thermal lattice Boltzmann method (TLBM) for modeling the ...
