PIM2 interacts with tristetraprolin and promotes breast cancer tumorigenesis
Tristetraprolin (TTP) is an AU‐rich element‐binding protein that regulates mRNA stability and is deregulated in some cancers. We have found that the oncogene Proviral Insertion in Murine Lymphomas 2 (PIM2) binds to TTP and decreases TTP protein levels by targeting it for degradation via the ubiquitin‐proteasome pathway.

Hallmarks of cancer and AU‐rich elements
Post‐transcriptional control of gene expression is aberrant in cancer cells. Sustained stabilization and enhanced translation of specific mRNAs are features of tumor cells. AU‐rich elements (AREs), cis‐acting mRNA decay determinants, play a major role in the posttranscriptional regulation of many genes involved in cancer processes.

Abstract Research on how people look for and interact with information has a long history in the information field. The current literature has been repeatedly reviewed in earlier volumes of Annual Review of Information Science and Technology. In this review, we offer an overview of the research published in this area in the years 2016–2022 with a focus

Abstract The activities of RNA‐binding proteins are perturbed in several pathological conditions, including cancer. These proteins include tristetraprolin (TTP, ZFP36) and HuR (ELAVL1), which respectively promote the decay or stability of adenylate‐uridylate‐rich (AU‐rich) mRNAs.

Understanding the underlying mechanisms of the increased abundance of inflammatory cytokines during disease, including those situations where double‐stranded RNA is involved, such as during viral and autoimmune diseases, is key to developing effective treatments. We identified here that the dsRNA, a viral and autoimmune mimic, caused increased p38‐MAPK

Characterization of mRNA therapeutics
Abstract Therapeutic messenger RNAs (mRNAs) have emerged as powerful tools in the treatment of complex diseases, especially for conditions that lack efficacious treatment. The successful application of this modality can be attributed to its ability to encode entire proteins.

ABSTRACT Limited nutrient availability in the tumor microenvironment can cause the rewiring of signaling and metabolic networks to confer cancer cells with survival advantages. We show here that the limitation of glucose, glutamine and serum from the culture medium resulted in the survival of a population of cancer cells with high viability and ...
