Word Frequency Effect in Lexical Decision Task: Evidence from Khalkha Mongolian [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Siberian Federal University. Humanities & Social Sciences, 2019
In experimental psycholinguistics, one clue into the architecture of lexical memory comes from the presence of robust frequency effects in lexical decision task (LDT), in which subjects judge whether a written stimulus is a real word or a nonword, and processing complexity is measured by reaction time (RT).

Score filtering for contextualized noise suppression of Poisson‐distributed geophysical signals

open access: yesNear Surface Geophysics, Volume 22, Issue 6, Page 599-616, December 2024.
Abstract Geophysical and remote sensing products that rely on Poisson‐distributed measurement signals, such as cosmic‐ray neutron sensing (CRNS) and gamma spectrometry, often face challenges due to inherent Poisson noise. Common techniques to enhance signal stability include data aggregation or smoothing (e.g., moving averages and interpolation ...

Temporal Study of Environmental DNA and Acoustic Data Reveals Coexistence of Sympatric Bat Species in a North American Ecosystem

open access: yesEnvironmental DNA, Volume 6, Issue 6, November–December 2024.
We found evidence of fine‐scale spatial partitioning and temporal differences in activity of different bat species in our northern California study area based on acoustic data. Two co‐roosting species, Tadarida brasiliensis and Eptesicus fuscus, displayed some differences in the identities and relative abundances of prey species consumed, but both ...

Insectivorous birds and bats outperform ants in the top‐down regulation of arthropods across strata of a Japanese temperate forest

open access: yesJournal of Animal Ecology, Volume 93, Issue 11, Page 1622-1638, November 2024.
Our study is the first to experimentally investigate the independent and combined impacts of bats, birds and ants on arthropod densities and subsequent herbivory damage across the canopy and understorey temperate forest layers. We found no vertical gradient in top‐down control importance in the forest.
