Granular hydrogels are emerging microporous platforms for cell culture and delivery, showing great potential for replicating the complex, heterogeneous environments found in natural tissues. This review outlines the design principles of granular hydrogels, highlighting critical factors that determine the final physicochemical properties of the entire ...

A Primer on Kidney Transplantation: Anatomy of the Shortage [PDF]
Kidneys are unique among the solid organs due to the combination of the low risk of living donation, the feasibility of sustaining life on dialysis for several years following kidney failure, and Medicare coverage of dialysis and transplantation for ...

Horseshoe kidney transplantation
Even though the number of patients awaiting renal transplant is rapidly increasing, the donor pool remains relatively stable. In an attempt to increase this pool, marginal kidneys and kidneys with congenital anatomical variations are being used. Horseshoe kidneys, being the most common renal fusion anomaly, can provide a useful solution to the ever ...

This study introduces a new lipopolymer nanoparticle (LPNP) system that efficiently delivers siRNA to leukemia cells. The LPNPs silence the leukemia fusion gene KMT2A::AFF1, induce apoptosis, and decrease leukemia burden in mice. These results demonstrate the potential of LPNPs as a targeted siRNA therapy for acute lymphoblastic leukemia.

Self‐Assembling Multi‐Antigen T Cell Hybridizers for Precision Immunotherapy of Multiple Myeloma
A novel modular T‐cell engager platform, MATCH, is developed for personalized multiple myeloma therapy. MATCH uses complementary oligonucleotide‐linked Fab’ fragments to enable flexible targeting of MM antigens and controlled T‐cell activation. The system shows potent, antigen‐specific cytotoxicity in vitro and in vivo, highlighting its potential for ...

Custom, Contract, and Kidney Exchange [PDF]
In this Essay, we examine a case in which the organizational and logistical demands of a novel form of organ exchange (the nonsimultaneous, extended, altruistic donor (NEAD) chain) do not map cleanly onto standard cultural schemas for either market or ...

Checkpoint Inhibitors in Kidney Transplant Recipients and the Potential Risk of Rejection
Enhancing anti-tumor T cell immunity with checkpoint inhibitor antibodies such as anticytotoxic T-lymphocyte-associated protein 4 (CTLA-4) and antiprogram death 1 (PD-1) has shown significant clinical benefits in tumor regression and prolonged ...
