Actin as a Component of Cytoskeleton in the Collecting Tubule System of the Mouse Kidney
Urologia Internationalis, 1989Actin as a component of the cytoskeleton is familiar as a protein which possibly mediates contraction in nonmuscular cells. In 20 mouse kidneys, the distribution of intracellular actin in the collecting tubule system was investigated by means of the anti-actin PAP method.

This review summarizes the strategy of cellular immortalization based on the principle of targeted oncogenesis in transgenic mice, used to establish models of transimmortalized renal proximal tubule cells, referred to as PKSV-PCT and PKSV-PR-cells, and collecting duct principal cells, referred to as mpkCCD(cl4) cells.

Endocrinology, 1975
Recently, a class of receptors exhibiting high affinity for corticosterone was described in rat kidney (Feldman, D. et al., Endocrinology 92: 1429, 1973). These receptor sites exhibited negligible affinity for dexamethasone and aldosterone and were designated Type III to distinguish them from sites having high affinity for aldosterone (Type I), and ...

ESTIMATION OF TIME SINCE DEATH BY HISTOLOGICAL EXAMINATION OF COLLECTING TUBULES IN HUMAN KIDNEY.
International Journal of Medical and Biomedical Studies, 2019Background: The current research histological changes in the Collecting tubules were examined at various postmortem intervals in the deceased human. In these research histological changes of tissue after death is influenced by P.M.I. atmospheric temperature and humidity, external and internal factors. Aim: To study the time since death by post ...

IN the kidneys of various species, the collecting tubules are composed of two types of cells. These were apparently first seen by Heidenhain1, and described in subsequent years as light and dark (intercalated) cells2. The name given to these cells alludes to the fact that the cytoplasm of the dark cells stains with various commonly used dyes more ...

Light and electron microscopic techniques were employed to characterise the various cell types found in the distal tubules, collecting tubules and collecting ducts in the kidneys of wild starlings (Sturnus vulgaris). There was a gradual change in cell characteristics along the length of the distal tubule. A short transition zone was identified, between

The fine structure of the collecting tubules of the trout and killifish kidney was studied. These tubules are surrounded by layers of smooth muscle cells which are commonly innervated. The nerve terminals contain synaptic vesicles and, occasionally, a few dense-cored granules as well.

Na/Ca exchangers in collecting cells of rat kidney
Pflgers Archiv European Journal of Physiology, 1989Single pieces of fura-2-loaded cortical collecting tubule (CCT) isolated either from normal or adrenalectomized (ADX) rats were superfused in vitro, and the cytosolic calcium concentration [( Ca2+]i) was calculated from fluorescence recordings. The effects of altering the sodium gradient across cell membranes were investigated.

Surface Epithelia. Simple Columnar Epithelium. Example: Collecting Tubule of the Rat Kidney
1985In the upper part of the plate, an interlobular artery (1) is depicted with an afferent (2) and efferent (3) arteriole. A nephron, the parts of which arerenal corpuscle (4), proximal tubule (5), thin segment (6), distal tubule (7), and connecting portion (8)—is joined to a collecting tubule (9), which is lined with simple columnar epithelium (10).

[Morphometric analysis of the effects of vasopressin in the rat kidney collecting tubules].
Rossiiskii fiziologicheskii zhurnal imeni I.M. Sechenova, 1999A significant increase in the water permeability was found in the rat outer medullary collecting duct (OMCD) cells in presence of 10-7M of vasopressin. The latter caused a decrease in the OMCD cell volume in isoosmotic medium in adult rats. In pups, the water permeability of the OMCD cells was very high.
