Mixed Matrix Membranes Adsorbers (MMMAs) for the Removal of Uremic Toxins from Dialysate

open access: yesMembranes, 2022
We developed Mixed Matrix Membrane Adsorbers (MMMAs) formed by cellulose acetate and various sorbent particles (activated carbon, zeolites ZSM-5 and clinoptilolite) for the removal of urea, creatinine and uric acid from aqueous solutions, to be used in ...

How (not) to think of the ‘dead-donor’ rule [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Although much has been written on the dead-donor rule in the last twenty-five years, scant attention has been paid to how it should be formulated, what its rationale is, and why it was accepted.

Comparative Analysis of Some Prominent Machine Learning Algorithm for the Prediction of Chronic Kidney Disease

open access: yesAcademy Journal of Science and Engineering, 2021
Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a disorder against proper function regarding kidneys, as kidneys filter our blood whenever CKD gets worse, our blood receives wastes at a higher level, which results in sickness. It also has a substantial financial problem

Dammarenediol II enhances etoposide‐induced apoptosis by targeting O‐GlcNAc transferase and Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling in liver cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Etoposide induces DNA damage, activating p53‐dependent apoptosis via caspase‐3/7, which cleaves PARP1. Dammarenediol II enhances this apoptotic pathway by suppressing O‐GlcNAc transferase activity, further decreasing O‐GlcNAcylation. The reduction in O‐GlcNAc levels boosts p53‐driven apoptosis and influences the Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling pathway ...
