open access: yesDizhen xuebao, 2022

Assessing the Economic Benefits of Space Weather Mitigation Investment Decisions: Evidence From Aotearoa New Zealand

open access: yesSpace Weather, Volume 24, Issue 10, October 2026.
Abstract Space weather events pose a growing threat to modern economies, yet their macroeconomic consequences remain underexplored. This study presents the first dedicated economic assessment of geomagnetic storm impacts on Aotearoa New Zealand, quantifying potential gross domestic product (GDP) losses across seven conservative disruption and ...

Development of machine learning-based site amplification models for Japan from borehole recordings

open access: yesGeomatics, Natural Hazards & Risk
A large number of site amplification models have been developed using regression and machine learning (ML) approaches. Although ML models generally outperform traditional methods in predicting site amplification, the effects of specific site and motion ...

open access: yesDizhen xuebao, 2018

Influence of source directivity and site effects of 2003 Tokachi-oki earthquake on the generation of high PGA in the near-fault zones

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2022
We study source directivity and site effects of 2003 Tokachi-oki earthquake (Japan, M w  ~ 8.3) and their influence on the distribution of peak ground accelerations (PGA) in the near-fault zones are studied.

On the geometry of WDVV equations and their Hamiltonian formalism in arbitrary dimension

open access: yesJournal of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 114, Issue 4, October 2026.
Abstract It is known that in low dimensions Witten–Dijkgraaf–Verlinde–Verlinde (WDVV) equations can be rewritten as commuting quasilinear bi‐Hamiltonian systems. We extend some of these results to arbitrary dimension N$N$ and arbitrary scalar product η$\eta$.

Broadband source model of the 2021 MW 7.1 Fukushima‐ken Oki earthquake in Japan based on seafloor and onshore strong‐motion records

open access: yesJapan Architectural Review
The 2021 MW 7.1 Fukushima‐ken Oki earthquake was the largest down‐dip compressional intraslab earthquake since August 2016, which is when S‐net records from the seafloor started to be provided.

Dynamic Mechanical Loading Modulates Extracellular Vesicle Production and Cargo in Meniscus Fibrochondrocytes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, Volume 13, Issue 17, 8 September 2026.
Dynamic mechanical loading of outer meniscus fibrochondrocytes increases extracellular vesicle (EV) yield and alters EV composition. When applied to progenitor cells, these mechanically primed EVs modulate the expression of matrix‐related genes.

Measuring stabilized heart rates in the prairie lizard, a small vertebrate ectotherm

open access: yesMethods in Ecology and Evolution, Volume 17, Issue 9, Page 2594-2602, September 2026.
Abstract The ability to accurately measure heart rates is vital for studying the ecological and evolutionary pressures on animals because cardiovascular regulation is associated with key physiological responses to environmental change. Heart rates, especially in ectotherms, are influenced by multiple factors over both the short and long term, including
