Mineralogy of garnets from the Jubileinaya kimberlite pipe and Ottorzhenets kimberlite body
The article presents results of a study of the chemical composition of garnet xenocry-stals from a concentrate of the heavy fraction of kimberlites from the Yubileinaya pipe and Ottorzhenets kimberlite body. Samples from porphyry kimberlites and autolithic kimberlite breccias were taken for analysis from the Yubileinaya pipe.

Abstract We present elemental geochemistry and multiple isotopic systematics (Re‐Os, Lu‐Hf, Sm‐Nd and Sr) for mantle peridotite xenoliths from Lashaine in northern Tanzania. We use the data to examine how the major Proterozoic tectono‐thermal events that affected the crust of the western Tanzanian craton are imprinted on the lithospheric mantle in the ...

Geochemical criteria for identifying diamond-bearing areas [PDF]
The paper demonstrates that diamondiferous objects may be pinpointed even by the middle-scale geochemical surveys. Relevant criteria were developed to identify and classify such objects by their prospectivity.

CO 2 Solubility in Kimberlite melts CO 2 Solubility in Kimberlite melts [PDF]
International audienceCarbon dioxide is the most abundant volatile in kimberlite melts and its solubility exerts a prime influence on the melt structure, buoyancy, transport rate and hence eruption dynamics.

Abstract Deep‐origin carbonatite melts are considered to be the products of partial‐melting of the oceanic crust in the subduction zones. In this study, we conducted electrical conductivity (EC) measurements on two samples, the composition of which resemble the partial‐melting products atop the 410‐km discontinuity and in the lower part of the ...

Abundance and Partitioning of OH in a High-pressure Magmatic System: Megacrysts from the Monastery Kimberlite, South Africa [PDF]
Concentrations of OH, and major and trace elements were determined in a suite of mantle-derived megacrysts that represent the crystallization products of a kimberlite-like magma at ~5 GPa and ~1400–1100°C.

This study presents the gemological analysis of 25 garnets from Hellenistic and Roman jewellery in the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki using mobile Raman spectroscopy and micro‐EDXRF. The garnets are classified into three geochemical clusters, with notable differences in distribution between Thessaloniki and Pydna, suggesting distinct trading ...
