Civility, honour and male aggression in early modern English jestbooks
Gender &History, Volume 38, Issue 1, Page 70-85, March 2026.Abstract This article discusses the comical representation of inter‐male violence within early modern English jestbooks. It is based on a rigorous survey of the genre, picking out common themes and anecdotes, as well as discussing their reception and sociable functions. Previous scholarship has focused on patriarchs, subversive youths and impoliteness.

Ziel dieser Studie war es, die Inzidenz und Überlebensraten von PCL in Deutschland zu ermitteln.
