Abstract Increase in pre‐monsoon heatwaves over the Indo‐Gangetic Plains (IGP) of India threatens life and ecosystems. We investigate the sufficiency of large‐scale anticyclones in forming moist and dry heatwaves by analysing local land‐atmospheric conditions prior to 10 heatwaves in IGP.

A New Family of Ternary Intermetallic Compounds with Dualistic Atomic Ordering – The ZIP Phases
The ZIP phases are ternary intermetallic compounds with dualistic atomic ordering, i.e., they exhibit one face‐centered cubic (fcc; space group Fd3¯$\bar 3$m) variant and one hexagonal (space group P63/mmc) variant. The ZIP phases in the Nb‐Si‐Ni system are the Nb3SiNi2 (fcc) and Ni3SiNb2 (hexagonal) ternary IMCs, crystal structure schematics of which ...

Recent Advances in Collective Behaviors of Micro/Nanomotor Swarms
This review describes the driving forces behind collective motion, explores the self‐organization of micro/nano swarms across zero‐dimensional (0D), one‐dimensional (1D), two‐dimensional (2D), and three‐dimensional (3D) spaces, and highlights their potential in drug delivery, environmental monitoring, and smart devices.

Non-linear unit-hydrograph runoff routing based on kinematic wave theory
A simple method of flood hydrograph synthesis. the kinematic wave "unit hydrograph" (KWUH) method, based on the kinematic wave theory, had been proposed by Lee et al (1992). The method is able to capture the unit response hydrograph of a catchment explicitly in terms of three characteristic, catchment-averaged, physically meaningful parameters.
