Kinematic Wave Theory for Transient Bed Sediment Waves in Alluvial Rivers [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Hydrologic Engineering, 2008
Transient bed sediment waves in alluvial rivers have been described using a multitude of hydraulic formulations. These formulations are based on some form of the St. Venant equations and conservation of mass of sediment in suspension and in bed. Depending on the assumptions employed, a hierarchy of formulations is expressed.

Causal diamonds, cluster polytopes and scattering amplitudes

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2022
The “amplituhedron” for tree-level scattering amplitudes in the bi-adjoint ϕ 3 theory is given by the ABHY associahedron in kinematic space, which has been generalized to give a realization for all finite-type cluster algebra polytopes, labelled by ...

A Variable Kinematic Multifield Model for the Lamb Wave Propagation Analysis in Smart Panels

open access: yesSensors, 2022
The present paper assessed the use of variable kinematic two-dimensional elements in the dynamic analysis of Lamb waves propagation in an isotropic plate with piezo-patches.

Bedrock river erosion through dipping layered rocks: quantifying erodibility through kinematic wave speed [PDF]

open access: yesEarth Surface Dynamics, 2021
Landscape morphology reflects drivers such as tectonics and climate but is also modulated by underlying rock properties. While geomorphologists may attempt to quantify the influence of rock strength through direct comparisons of landscape morphology and ...

Nonlinear Time-Domain Strip Theory Formulation for Low-Speed Manoeuvering and Station-Keeping [PDF]

open access: yesModeling, Identification and Control, 2004
This paper presents a computer effective nonlinear time-domain strip theory formulation for dynamic positioning (DP) and low-speed manoeuvring. Strip theory or 2D potential theory, where the ship is divided in 20 to 30 cross sections, can be used to ...

Proposing a kinematic wave‐based adaptive transit signal priority control using genetic algorithm

open access: yesIET Intelligent Transport Systems, 2023
This paper proposes a kinematic wave‐based adaptive transit signal priority control (KATC) aiming to minimize average passenger delay at intersection level.

Dynamic queuing transmission model for dynamic network loading

open access: yesTransport, 2017
This paper presents a new macroscopic multi-class dynamic network loading model called Dynamic Queuing Transmission Model (DQTM). The model utilizes ‘good’ properties of the Dynamic Queuing Model (DQM) and the Link Transmission Model (LTM) by offering a ...

Hyperspherical partial wave theory applied to electron hydrogen-atom ionization calculation for equal energy sharing kinematics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Hyperspherical partial wave theory has been applied here in a new way in the calculation of the triple differential cross sections for the ionization of hydrogen atoms by electron impact at low energies for various equal-energy-sharing kinematic ...

Modelling fine-sliced three dimensional electron diffraction data with dynamical Bloch-wave simulations

open access: yesIUCrJ, 2023
Recent interest in structure solution and refinement using electron diffraction (ED) has been fuelled by its inherent advantages when applied to crystals of sub-micrometre size, as well as its better sensitivity to light elements.

Kinematic diffusion approach to describe recharge phenomena in unsaturated fractured chalk

open access: yesJournal of Hydrology and Hydromechanics, 2017
When dealing with groundwater resources, a better knowledge of the hydrological processes governing flow in the unsaturated zone would improve the assessment of the natural aquifer recharge and its vulnerability to contamination.
