Methyl esters selectivity of transesterification reaction with homogenous alkaline catalyst to produce biodiesel in batch, plug flow, and continuous stirred tank reactors [PDF]
Selectivity concept is essential in establishing the best operating conditions for attaining maximum production of the desired product. For complex reaction such as biodiesel fuel synthesis, kinetic studies of transesterification reaction have revealed ...

Determination the biochemical kinetics of natural and synthetic estrogens in moving bed Bioreactor
Aim: Estrogenic compounds as a group of endocrine disruptive compounds can interfere with endocrine system beings. In the present work, an attempt has been made, to characterize the kinetic coefficients of natural and synthetic estrogens, in a pilot ...

On Dielectric Constant and Enzymatic Kinetics [PDF]
The dielectric effects on trypsin and α-chymotrypsin activities have revealed that at pH 7.8 the active species of the former is the cation while that of the latter is the anion. The present study on the dielectric effects along the pH-activity curves shows that trypsin remains positive within the pH range of 5.5 to 8.5.

Here we address the problem of what we can expect from investigations of sorption kinetics on cryogel beads in batch. Does macroporosity of beads indeed help eliminate diffusion limitations under static sorption conditions?

Chemical Equilibrium from the Viewpoint of Mixing Entropy and Some Comments on Equilibrium Constants
Chemical reaction equilibrium was often introduced based on the kinetic assumption called the mass action law. In this paper, problems in the kinetic concept are pointed out and several equilibrium constants are derived on the concept of thermodynamic ...

Intramolecular dynamics. I. Curvilinear normal modes, local modes, molecular anharmonic Hamiltonian, and application to benzene [PDF]
The Hamiltonian based on curvilinear normal modes and local modes (CNLM) is discussed using Wilson's exact vibrational Hamiltonian as basis, the CNLM representation diagonalizing only the normal mode block of FG matrix in curvilinear internal coordinates.

Pre-big bang model has Planck problem [PDF]
The pre-big bang's kinetic driven inflationary mechanism is not an adequate form of inflation: the Planck length grows more rapidly than the scale factor.

Dynamic Effect of NaCl Concentration on Intramuscular Lipid Hydrolysis and Oxidation in Pork
To investigate the effects of different NaCl concentration on intramuscular lipid hydrolysis and lipid oxidation in pork processing, 1%, 2%, 3%, 4%, and 5% of NaCl were added to the longsissimus muscles, respectively. Then kinetic changes of triglyceride,

The units of rate constants in chemical kinetics [PDF]
AbstractThis short article discusses the units of rate constants as used in chemical kinetics and, in particular, the aspect of non-integral powers of base units, which some might find unusual for units in the SI system. In many ways the fact that the units of the rate constants as usually defined convey information about the order of the reaction or ...
