Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Elastic Constants of Quantum Solids by Path Integral Simulations
Two methods are proposed to evaluate the second-order elastic constants of quantum mechanically treated solids. One method is based on path-integral simulations in the (NVT) ensemble using an estimator for elastic constants.

KINETICS OF RECOMBINATION PROCESSES [PDF]
In order to solve nonlinear kinetic equations for recombination reactions when the production of participating species is driven externally at a time-dependent rate, the authors establish a framework based on the correspondence between these equations ...

Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐

Classical and quantum three-dimensional integrable systems with axial symmetry
We study the most general form of a three dimensional classical integrable system with axial symmetry and invariant under the axis reflection. We assume that the three constants of motion are the Hamiltonian, $H$, with the standard form of a kinetic part

$B$ Decay Constants from NRQCD with Dynamical Fermions [PDF]
We present a lattice investigation of the heavy-light meson decay constants using Wilson light quarks and NRQCD heavy quarks, partially including the effects of dynamical sea quarks.

Enzymes of the 2‐hydroxyacyl‐CoA lyase group catalyze the condensation of formyl‐CoA with aldehydes or ketones. Thus, by structural adaptation of active sites, practically any pharmaceutically and industrially important 2‐hydroxyacid could be biotechnologically synthesized. Combining crystal structure analysis, active site mutations and kinetic assays,

The reactivity of α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acids. Part XVI. The kinetics of the reaction of cycloalkenecarboxylic and cycloalkenylacetic acids with diazodiphenylmethane in various alcohols [PDF]
The rate constants for the reaction of diazodiphenylmethane with 1-cyclopentenecarboxylic, 1-cycloheptenecarboxylic, cyclopent-1-enylacetic and cyclohept-1-enylacetic acids were determined in eight alcohols at 30 ºC using the appropriate UV-spectroscopic
