A Multiscale Kinetic-Fluid Solver with Dynamic Localization of Kinetic Effects [PDF]
This paper collects the efforts done in our previous works [P. Degond, S. Jin, L. Mieussens, A Smooth Transition Between Kinetic and Hydrodynamic Equations, J. Comp. Phys., 209 (2005) 665--694.],[P.Degond, G. Dimarco, L.

First-passage kinetic Monte Carlo method [PDF]
We present a new efficient method for Monte Carlo simulations of diffusion-reaction processes. First introduced by us in [Phys. Rev. Lett., 97:230602, 2006], the new algorithm skips the traditional small diffusion hops and propagates the diffusing particles over long distances through a sequence of super-hops, one particle at a time.

Bayesian kinetic modeling for tracer-based metabolomic data
Background Stable Isotope Resolved Metabolomics (SIRM) is a new biological approach that uses stable isotope tracers such as uniformly $$^{13}C$$ 13 C -enriched glucose ( $$^{13}C_6$$ 13 C 6 -Glc) to trace metabolic pathways or networks at the atomic ...

A consistent description of kinetics and hydrodynamics of systems of interacting particles by means of the nonequilibrium statistical operator method [PDF]
A statistical approach to a self-consistent description of kinetic and hydrodynamic processes in systems of interacting particles is formulated on the basis of the nonequilibrium statistical operator method by D.N.Zubarev.

Controlled Lagrangians and the stabilization of mechanical systems. II. Potential shaping [PDF]
For pt.I, see ibid., vol.45, p.2253-70 (2000). We extend the method of controlled Lagrangians (CL) to include potential shaping, which achieves complete state-space asymptotic stabilization of mechanical systems.

Adsorption kinetic modeling using pseudo-first order and pseudo-second order rate laws: A review
Adsorption for water and wastewater treatment has been the subject of many research in the scientific community, focusing mainly on either equilibrium or kinetic studies. Adsorption kinetics are commonly modeled using pseudo-first and pseudo-second order

Hitherto in work on the new statistics the method of probabilities has always been used, a method which consists in the measuring of the phase space by counting complexions.

A note on the lattice Boltzmann method beyond the Chapman Enskog limits [PDF]
A non-perturbative analysis of the Bhatnagar-Gross-Krook (BGK) model kinetic equation for finite values of the Knudsen number is presented. This analysis indicates why discrete kinetic versions of the BGK equation, and notably the Lattice Boltzmann ...
