Kinetic Divertor Modeling [PDF]

open access: possible, 2011
The coupled dynamics and kinetics between gas and plasma in the divertor region is studied by means of a one-dimensional Particle in Cell-Direct Simulation Monte Carlo (PIC-DSMC) model. In particular, the collision-induced vibrational excitation/relaxation of H2 molecules and particle-surface interaction (vibrational relaxation and recombinative ...

The kinetic model

2022
This chapter examines the kinetic model, which assumes that a gas consists of molecules of negligible size in ceaseless random motion and obeying the laws of classical mechanics in their collisions. As well as accounting for the gas laws, this model can be used to predict the average speed at which molecules move in a gas, and its dependence on ...

Kinetic Modeling

2017
The quantification of perfusion from arterial spin labeling (ASL) perfusion MRI data relies upon the principles of tracer kinetics. This chapter first outlines the simplest form of a tracer kinetic model that can be applied to ASL data, before exploring variations on this model that can be applied to extract other hemodynamic information such as ...

A Kinetic Model for Exfoliation Kinetics of Layered Materials

Angewandte Chemie International Edition, 2015
AbstractExfoliation of two‐dimensional materials is key to obtaining high‐performance properties. We present a simple kinetic model for exfoliation that is readily solved analytically. Random and irreversible sheet separation is postulated in the presence of highly effective stabilizers.

A kinetic model for cell agglutination

Experimental Cell Research, 1976
Abstract A model of concanavalin A (ConA) mediated cell agglutination kinetics is proposed, in which the binding of the lectin, the agglutination of cells and the disintegration of cell clumps are discussed. This resulted in a differential equation, which is solved in terms of the average number of cells per cell clump as a function of time.

A kinetic model for calcium distribution

Journal of Theoretical Biology, 1990
Models for the distribution of minerals in the body are of interest as they allow researchers to trace the effect of a dose on mineral levels in plasma, storage and other compartments. Limited models are available in the literature for tracing the distribution of a calcium dose through a short time period.

A kinetic model for glutamate dehydrogenase

Journal of Theoretical Biology, 1977
Abstract A model for the glutamate dehydrogenase reaction has been obtained that contains the reported intermediates suggested by binding and equilibrium isotope exchange methods. Calculated steady state-initial velocity rates using this model are quantitatively consistent with a wide range of nonlinear experimental data in both directions.

Kinetic Models

2001
Abstract Kinetic models originated in attempts to make useful approximations to the Boltzmann equation. However, because of their simplicity and pictorial quality they are often used in entirely different contexts.
