Prophets, priests, and kings today? theological and practical problems with the use of the munus triplex as a leadership typology

open access: yesPerichoresis: The Theological Journal of Emanuel University, 2018
It has become widespread, not only among pastors and conference speakers but also among scholars such as Vern Poythress and John Frame, to utilize the threefold offices of Christ as a typology for church leadership.

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

De l’aurore à la nuit : le parcours du roi-soleil maya

open access: yesJournal de la Société des Américanistes, 2006
From dawn to darkness: the course of the maya king-sun. Carved, modeled or painted monumental images from various sites, created during the Maya Classic period, depict the main moments of the solar course in which the king is likened to the sun.

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...

The structure of government, its features and functions in The Path of God’s Bondsmen [PDF]

open access: yesتاریخ ادبیات, 2010
Najm al-Din is a mystic who is apparently alien to the world of politics. However, his interest in man and his destiny, happiness and misery, which is related to the way of running the country, makes him raise political issues.

Electron transfer between complexes III and IV in S. cerevisiae mitochondrial membranes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation in S. cerevisiae mitoplasts is limited by complex IV catalytic capacity, rather than two‐dimensional cytochrome c diffusion. At physiological cytochrome c : supercomplex ratios at salinity equivalent to that of 20 mm monovalent salt, activity is maximized, indicating that this low ionic strength accurately mimics

Réflexions autour de la notion de vraisemblance dans l’art du portrait royal à la Renaissance : l’exemple des représentations du souverain Henri IV

open access: yesLes Cahiers de Framespa, 2020
Illustrious people’s portraits, whilst having gained the aura of historical documents or even authentic archives, remain imagined creations that reveal only partly the truth.

Effects of the Ancient Iranian Ideal-Kingship Theory on Plato’s Philosopher King [PDF]

open access: yesFaṣlnāmah-i Pizhūhish/hā-yi Rāhburdī-i Siyāsat, 2016
There are numerous evidence proving that the Platonic and Aristotelian thoughts, even those of Socrates, are inspired by the Eastern, especially Persian, thought.

Microbiome−host proteostasis crosstalk—An emerging perspective on mechanisms and interventions toward healthy longevity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Proteostasis and the gut microbiota play a key role in shaping host physiology. Microbiota‐derived metabolites, vitamins, and RNA modulate host proteostasis. Findings from model systems, including C. elegans, indicate microbes can either stabilize or disrupt host proteostasis.
