Utilization of Palm Fiber King as a Strengthening Material on Biocomposite

open access: yesJOURNAL OF SCIENCE AND APPLIED ENGINEERING, 2018
Royal palm (Roystonea regia) is still utilized in traditional way. In this study, royal palm fiber is employed as a reinforcing material in composites. The fiber is divided into two groups of fibers, which are continuous and discontinuous, with a length of fibers of 20 and 5 cm, respectively.

MERCERIZED ARCHONTOPHOENIX ALEXANDRAE (KING PALM) FIBRE AND THE CONSEQUENCE OF PULLING FORCE ON ITS REINFORCEMENT IN EPOXY MATRIX. [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Advanced Research, 2019
Natural plant fibre was loosened from ArchontophoenixAlexandrae ?King palm? leaf stalk by saltwater retting and washing, then sun-dried for 2 weeks. The fibre was pulverized and treated with 4 M sodium hydroxide (NaOH) for 30 minutes before washing to neutralize the fibre and sun dried.

Various short autonomously replicating sequences from the yeast Kluyveromyces marxianus seemingly without canonical consensus

open access: yesCurrent Research in Microbial Sciences, 2021
Eukaryotic autonomously replicating sequences (ARSs) are composed of three domains, A, B, and C. Domain A is comprised of an ARS consensus sequence (ACS), while the B domain has the DNA unwinding element and the C domain is important for DNA-protein ...

Germination of Archontophoenix cunninghamiana (Australian king palm) seeds based on different temperatures and substrates

open access: yesOrnamental Horticulture, 2017
Archontophoenix cunninghamiana or Australian King Palm, is a very popular ornamental palm in Brazil. Although A. cunninghamiana is propagated by seeds, few studies have reported on seed germination of this species. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the effect of different temperatures and substrates on the germination of A.
