Phase Field Failure Modeling: Brittle‐Ductile Dual‐Phase Microstructures under Compressive Loading

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The approach by Amor and the approach by Miehe and Zhang for asymmetric damage behavior in the phase field method for fracture are compared regarding their fitness for microcrack‐based failure modeling. The comparison is performed for the case of a dual‐phase microstructure with a brittle and a ductile constituent.

Stability of Solutions for a Krichhoff-Type Plate Equation with Degenerate Damping

open access: yesCommunications in Advanced Mathematical Sciences, 2022
We investigate a Kirchhoff type plate equation with degenerate damping term. By potential well theory, we show the asymptotic stability of energy in the presence of a degenerate damping.

Nonlocal Kirchhoff superlinear equations with indefinite nonlinearity and lack of compactness

open access: yes, 2019
We study the following Kirchhoff equation $$- \left(1 + b \int_{\mathbb{R}^3} |\nabla u|^2 dx \right) \Delta u + V(x) u = f(x,u), \ x \in \mathbb{R}^3.$$ A special feature of this paper is that the nonlinearity $f$ and the potential $V$ are indefinite ...

All‐in‐One Analog AI Hardware: On‐Chip Training and Inference with Conductive‐Metal‐Oxide/HfOx ReRAM Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An all‐in‐one analog AI accelerator is presented, enabling on‐chip training, weight retention, and long‐term inference acceleration. It leverages a BEOL‐integrated CMO/HfOx ReRAM array with low‐voltage operation (<1.5 V), multi‐bit capability over 32 states, low programming noise (10 nS), and near‐ideal weight transfer.

Assessing the role of spatial externalities in the survival of Italian innovative startups

open access: yesRegional Science Policy &Practice, EarlyView., 2023
Abstract The paper provides novel empirical evidence about the effects of spatial externalities on the survival of innovative startups in Italy. Using geocoded firm‐level data, we build micro‐geographic measures of specialization and diversity that are robust to the modifiable areal unit problem.

On a critical Choquard-Kirchhoff p-sub-Laplacian equation in ℍn

open access: yesAnalysis and Geometry in Metric Spaces
This article is devoted to the study of a critical Choquard-Kirchhoff pp-sub-Laplacian equation on the entire Heisenberg group Hn{{\mathbb{H}}}^{n}, where the Kirchhoff function KK can be zero at zero, i.e., the equation can be degenerate, and involving ...

Multiplicity and concentration of solutions for Kirchhoff equations with exponential growth

open access: yesBulletin of Mathematical Sciences
In this paper, we deal with fractional [Formula: see text]-Laplace Kirchhoff equations with exponential growth of the form 𝜀ps(a + b[u] s,pp)(−Δ) psu + Z(x)|u|p−2u = h(u)in ℝN, where [Formula: see text] is a positive parameter, [Formula: see text ...

On a generalized Kirchhoff equation with sublinear nonlinearities

open access: yes, 2016
In this paper we consider a generalized Kirchhoff? equation in a bounded domain under the effect of a sublinear nonlinearity. Under suitable assumptions on the data of the problem we show that, with a simple change of variable, the equation can be ...

Thermally Engineered Sodium‐Embedded Alumina with Programmable Synaptic Plasticity for Neuromorphic Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A fully transparent, all‐metal‐oxide neuromorphic transistor using a sodium‐embedded alumina (SEA) electrolyte is demonstrated. By precisely tuning the thermal annealing process, the chemical composition of the SEA layer is controlled, allowing for the deterministic realization of both short‐term and long‐term synaptic plasticity within the same device
