A Plate Bending Kirchhoff Element Based on Assumed Strain Functions
2020To investigate static and free vibration for thin plate bending structures, a four-node quadrilateral finite element is proposed in this research paper. This element has been formulated by using both the assumptions of thin plates theory (Kirchhoff plate theory) and strain approach.

The resolution function in linearized born and Kirchhoff inversion
2005We consider the problem of constructing the depth image of a heterogeneous model (f.ex. the subsurface) based on surface measurements. Due to a limited-aperture and band limited signals, the output from a general inversion scheme will be a distorted or blurred image.

Influence Functions of a Point Force for Multiply Connected Kirchhoff Plates
Mathematics and Mechanics of Solids, 2004A modified version of the classical method of functional equations is developed for accurate evaluation of the response to a transverse point concentrated force for multiply connected Kirchhoff plates. The resolving potentials are built, in this version, with the aid of Green functions of the biharmonic equation for regions of standard shape.

On size-dependent dynamic behavior of rotating functionally graded Kirchhoff microplates
International Journal of Mechanical Sciences, 2019Abstract A size-dependent model for free vibration and transient response of rotating functionally graded (FG) microplates is established on the basis of the Kirchhoff plate theory and modified couple stress theory. A microplate made of a two-constituent material with a continuous through-thickness power-law variation is considered.

Analogies between Kirchhoff plates and functionally graded Saint-Venant beams under torsion
Continuum Mechanics and Thermodynamics, 2014Exact solutions of elastic Kirchhoff plates are available only for special geometries, loadings and kinematic boundary constraints. An effective solution procedure, based on an analogy between functionally graded orthotropic Saint-Venant beams under torsion and inhomogeneous isotropic Kirchhoff plates, with no kinematic boundary constraints, is ...
