Monolithic Framework to Simulate Fluid‐Structure Interaction Problems Using Geometric Volume‐of‐Fluid Method

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical Methods in Fluids, EarlyView.
A three‐dimensional fluid‐structure interaction (FSI) framework is developed using the geometric volume‐of‐fluid (VOF) interface capturing method and applied to assess largescale turbulent FSI interactions. The monolithic FSI framework is extensively validated, and despite the discontinuities across the interface, the FSI framework delivers stable and ...

Existence Results for a px-Kirchhoff-Type Equation without Ambrosetti-Rabinowitz Condition

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2013
We consider the existence and multiplicity of solutions for the px-Kirchhoff-type equations without Ambrosetti-Rabinowitz condition. Using the Mountain Pass Lemma, the Fountain Theorem, and its dual, the existence of solutions and infinitely many ...

Bio‐inspired artificial retina with receptive fields for in‐sensor multiply‐and‐accumulate operations

open access: yesInfoMat, EarlyView.
We developed a bio‐inspired artificial retina in which curved artificial receptive fields composed of perovskite photoconductors perform multiply‐and‐accumulate operations through in‐sensor computing. This architecture simultaneously realized the structural efficiency of human eyes (compact single‐lens imaging system) and functional advantages of ...

Multiplicity Results for a Kirchhoff-Type Equations with General Potential

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Applied Mathematics
This research we examine a Kirchhoff type equation in \(\mathbb{R}^{3}\) involving a potential that changes sign. By imposing appropriate conditions on \(V\) and making spectral assumptions, we successfully establish the existence of multiple solutions for this particular issue using variational methods.

Reconfigurable Giant Nonreciprocity at Near‐Normal Incidence via Phase‐Change Magneto‐Optical Metagratings

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
A phase‐change magneto‐optical metagrating combines GST switching with InAs guided‐mode resonances to achieve strong nonreciprocal absorption contrast near normal incidence. A static magnetic bias creates direction‐dependent resonant splitting, while GST crystallization quenches and latches the response.

Existence of Strictly Positive Solutions for a Kirchhoff-Type Equation with the Dirichlet Boundary on Locally Finite Graphs

open access: yesAxioms
In this paper, we investigate the existence of multiple solutions for a Kirchhoff-type equation with Dirichlet boundary conditions defined on locally finite graphs.

Weak Solutions for a Class of Nonlocal Singular Problems Over the Nehari Manifold

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In this paper, we consider a nonlocal model of dilatant non‐Newtonian fluid with a Dirichlet boundary condition. By using the Nehari manifold and fibering map methods, we obtain the existence of at least two weak solutions, with sign information.

Robust Position Control of an Electro‐Hydraulic Actuator via Metaheuristic Optimization of a Fractional‐Order PID Controller

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mechanical System Dynamics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In this study, a robust position control strategy is presented for a two‐stage electro‐hydraulic actuator system using a fractional‐order proportional–integral–derivative (FOPID) controller tuned by Kirchhoff's law algorithm (KLA). Electro‐hydraulic systems exhibit strong nonlinearities, parameter uncertainties, and external disturbances ...

Application of Non‐Isothermal Network Theory With Curved‐Channel Element Characteristics to Predict Melt Conveying in High‐Performance Single‐Screw Extruders

open access: yesJournal of Polymer Science, EarlyView.
This study presents a fast and accurate calculation tool to predict conveying of polymer melts in single‐screw extruders. Integrating generalized sub‐models into network theory allows to represent the complex screw shapes and material behavior more realistically. Tests on an industrial extruder show close agreement with experiments, outperforming older
