Po klęsce wojsk niemieckich pod Stalingradem w 1943 roku, Niemcy zarządzili organizowanie rozgrywek sportowych w obozach koncentracyjnych. Tak stało się też w KL Dachau. Funkcjonowały tu regularne rozgrywki ligowe piłki nożnej.
