Features of defective structure of active-uneline crystals of double duality LiTaO3:Cr:Nd and their manifestation in the infrared absorption spectra in the field of valence vibrations of hydrogen atoms of ОН— groups

open access: yesФизико-химические аспекты изучения кластеров, наноструктур и наноматериалов
The defect structure of a series of LiTaO3 crystals, LiTaO3:Cr (0,005 wt.%), LiTaO3:Cr(0,06):Nd (0,20 wt.%), LiTaO3:Cr(0,09)Nd (0,25 wt.%), LiTaO3:Cr(0,1):Nd (0,25 wt.%), LiTaO3:Cr(0,2):Nd (0,45 wt.%), was studied using infrared absorption spectra in the

Inferring Endozoochory From Ingestion to Germination Through Biological Filters: Brown Bear Feces as a Case Study

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 15, Issue 12, December 2025.
Our study investigated the combined effect of methods and endozoochorous filters (ingestion, mastication, gut passage and fecal matrix) on the inference of endozoochory. Our results highlighted differences according to the method used on the inference of endozoochory in terms of number of taxa and plant life forms, while inducing variable reliability ...

Dominant role of benthic photosynthesis for the metabolism of carbonate sands in a subtropical inner shelf

open access: yesLimnology and Oceanography, Volume 70, Issue 12, Page 3621-3633, December 2025.
Abstract Carbonate coral sands are an integral part of the carbon and nutrient cycles in subtropical and tropical coastal environments. Recent studies indicate that nearshore carbonate sands may be hotspots for organic matter production and respiration, but the processes and their controls are poorly understood due to a lack of noninvasive in situ ...

Host Cell Protein Clinical Safety Risk Assessment—An Updated Industry Review

open access: yesBiotechnology and Bioengineering, Volume 122, Issue 11, Page 3229-3248, November 2025.
ABSTRACT Host cell proteins (HCP) are process‐related impurities that can co‐purify with therapeutic proteins. Some HCP impurities potentially can have an impact on patient safety (immunogenicity or toxicity), efficacy, and/or product quality. It is important to reduce the levels of HCP impurities with a well‐controlled manufacturing process and to ...

Misplaced fears? What the evidence reveals of the ecological effects of tidal power generation

open access: yesEcological Solutions and Evidence, Volume 6, Issue 4, October–December 2025.
Marine energy (tidal range and stream/flow) is a dependable and clean power source that stands out as a compelling alternative to fossil fuels. Despite widespread concerns surrounding the ecological effects of tidal energy infrastructure, we find few of these are substantiated by evidence or long‐term monitoring of existing tidal power projects.
