Altered expression of the KLF4 in colorectal cancers
Pathology - Research and Practice, 2006KLF4 is an important regulator of cell proliferation and is maximally expressed in epithelial cells of the gastrointestinal tract. Inactivation of the KLF4 gene by genetic and epigenetic alterations has been reported in colorectal cancers, but the expression pattern of the KLF4 protein has not been studied.

Zebrafish KLF4 Is Essential for Primitive Haematopoiesis.
Blood, 2005Abstract Gene knockout studies of Krüppel-like factors (KLFs) in mice have demonstrated key roles in organogenesis. EKLF (Klf1) plays an essential role in definitive erythropoiesis and b-globin gene expression, but primitive (yolk sac) erythropoiesis and embryonic globin gene expression are essentially normal.

KLF4 signalling in carcinogenesis and epigenetic regulation of hTERT
Medical Hypotheses, 2018Gene expression is crucial and tightly regulated to steer the development, differentiation, proliferation and even apoptosis of a cell. Each cell and tissue type shows a unique repertoire of transcription factors. Tissue micro-environmental regulation of epigenetic signature of a gene has been documented in many cases.

Prognostic significance of NANOG and KLF4 for breast cancer
Breast Cancer, 2012Some of the induced pluripotent stem cell (iPS cell)-inducing factors have been reported to be expressed in breast cancer. The aim of the present study was to examine the relationship between the expression of iPS cell-inducing factors and the prognosis of breast cancer patients. In 100 breast cancer patients, the expression of c-MYC, KLF4, NANOG, OCT4,

Roles of Klf4 in embryonic stem cells
2015Human and mouse ES cells are defined by their ability to confer self-renewal and differentiate into various cell types, making them an invaluable tool for investigation of Stem cell maintenance, differentiation, and reprogramming. Human ES cells have infinite potential for therapeutic applications.
