Do Net‐Zero Targets Embedded in (EU) Legislation Increase Public Support for Climate Policies?

open access: yesSwiss Political Science Review, EarlyView.
Abstract Over 90 countries have committed to reaching net‐zero greenhouse gas emissions by a specific year, and many include this commitment in legislation. Often, public authorities make these commitments before implementing a set of climate change mitigation policies aimed at meeting these commitments.

Synergy‐based crop suitability assessment for agrivoltaics: An easy‐to‐use traffic‐light framework for temperate climates

open access: yesPLANTS, PEOPLE, PLANET, Volume 8, Issue 5, Page 1839-1852, September 2026.
Climate change and the growing demand for renewable energy are putting increasing pressure on land, as food production and solar power generation often compete for the same areas. In this study, we assessed which temperate‐region crops are best suited for agrivoltaics, a technology combining farming and solar electricity production on the same land. We

Klimawandel und Raumplanung

open access: yesRaumforschung und Raumordnung, 2006
Climate change and spatial planning are connected in two ways. On the one hand, spatial planning can contribute to mitigating climate change, i.e. to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

Vergleichende Untersuchung der Eigenschaften recycelter Kohlenstofffasern Comparative investigation of the properties of recycled carbon fibers

open access: yesChemie Ingenieur Technik, Volume 98, Issue 8, Page 485-494, August 2026.

Regeneration response to post‐disturbance forest management in Central Europe

open access: yesJournal of Applied Ecology, Volume 63, Issue 8, August 2026.
As disturbance activity intensifies, forest management must identify strategies to facilitate the rapid recovery of disturbed sites. By studying 868 disturbed sites across Central Europe, we found that active post‐disturbance management significantly enhanced tree regeneration in regional disturbance hotspots.

Thresholds of facilitation and competition—Climate modulates the growth–density relationship in Quercus robur

open access: yesJournal of Ecology, Volume 114, Issue 8, August 2026.
In forestry, tree growth is strongly influenced by stand density. Using Nelder trials across a broad climatic gradient in Europe, the authors found that tree growth responds non‐linearly to density, with shifts from competition to facilitation and corresponding density thresholds.

Power Through Visibility: How Policy Narratives Matter in Climate Change Debate on X

open access: yesPolicy Studies Journal, Volume 54, Issue 3, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Research on policy narratives has shown that political actors employ certain narrative strategies in their competition for attention. Although we know that actors' narrative strategies coincide with existing power constellations (e.g., government vs. opposition), the ways in which they influence public attention remain largely unknown. In this
