Variétés klt projectivement plates
2021In the context of uniformisation problems, we study projective varieties with klt singularities whose cotangent sheaf admits a projectively flat structure over the smooth locus. Generalising work of Jahnke-Radloff, we show that torus quotients are the only klt varieties with semistable cotangent sheaf and extremal Chern classes. An analogous result for

Uncertainty Estimation for KLT Tracking
2015The Kanade-Lucas-Tomasi tracker (KLT) is commonly used for tracking feature points due to its excellent speed and reasonable accuracy. It is a standard algorithm in applications such as video stabilization, image mosaicing, egomotion estimation, structure from motion and Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM). However, our understanding of errors

Hybrid KLT-SVD image compression
1997 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2002This paper investigates a transform adaptation technique, applied to transform coding of images, as a way of exploiting the variation in local statistics within an image. The method makes use of the relationship between the Karhunen-Loeve transform (KLT) and singular value decomposition (SVD), and their energy compaction properties.

Maccone second KLT theorem: KLT of all time-rescaled square Brownian motions
2012A surprising feature of the KL expansion obtained in Chapter 22 is that the same analytical solution valid for the X(t) process can be carried over to the X2(t) process. In other words, to keep within the easy framework of standard Brownian motion B(t), if we know the KL expansion of B(t), then we may also find the KL expansion of B2(t).

Detection Algorithms: FFT vs. KLT
2010Given the vast distances between the stars, we can anticipate that any received SETI signal will be exceedingly weak. How can we hope to extract (or even recognize) such signals buried well beneath the natural background noise with which they must compete?
