Yin Yang 1 Specifically Supports the Development of Olig2 Positive Cerebellar Astrocytes

open access: yesGlia, Volume 74, Issue 8, August 2026.
Cerebellar Olig2 positive astrocytes are most abundant in the cerebellar nuclei. Cerebellar astrocytes expressing Olig2 have unique gene expression profiles. Yin Yang 1 specifically supports the development of astrocytes expressing Olig2. Deletion of YY1 during development increases numbers of astrocytes expressing Olig2 but hinders their ...

KMT-2019-BLG-0842Lb: A Cold Planet below the Uranus/Sun Mass Ratio [PDF]

open access: yesAstronomical Journal, 2019
We report the discovery of a cold planet with a very low planet/host mass ratio of q = (4.09 ± 0.27) × 10−5, which is similar to the ratio of Uranus/Sun (q = 4.37 × 10−5) in the solar system.

Budding yeast kinetochore proteins, Chl4 and Ctf19, are required to maintain SPB-centromere proximity during G1 and late anaphase. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2014
In the budding yeast, centromeres stay clustered near the spindle pole bodies (SPBs) through most of the cell cycle. This SPB-centromere proximity requires microtubules and functional kinetochores, which are protein complexes formed on the centromeres ...

Manufacturing‐Driven Programming of Carbon Interfaces via Controlled Densification for Solid‐State Sodium Storage

open access: yesBattery Energy, Volume 5, Issue 4, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Interfacial instability in solid‐state sodium storage is largely dictated by uneven ion flux and localized degradation, while its control through manufacturing parameters remains limited. Here, controlled densification is employed to regulate interfacial structure and sodium‐ion behavior in nitrogen‐doped bio‐derived carbon electrodes ...

Assessment of Initial Stay Time and Work‐Rest Scheduling Over Consecutive Moderate‐Intensity Workdays in Hot Environments in Young and Older Males and Females

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Industrial Medicine, Volume 69, Issue 6, Page 431-445, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction Initial stay time (IST), the duration of continuous work before core temperature reaches 38.0°C, has been characterized in young and older adults but not across consecutive work periods or in conjunction with standard work‐rest cycles.

Sterilization of a Biological Safety Cabinet by Vaporized KMT Reagent

open access: yesBiocontrol Science, 2007
To investigate effective methods to sterilize a biological safety cabinet contaminated with Bacillus spores, a sterilization study was performed using the vaporized KMT reagent. Five kinds of test carriers inoculated with Bacillus subtilis spores, which had been prepared in-house, were used as indicators. The KMT reagent was placed in the middle of the

When Is a Wrong Answer Right?: Mediating Indigenous Language Revitalization at Taiwan Indigenous Television

open access: yesAmerican Anthropologist, Volume 128, Issue 2, Page 259-271, June 2026.
ABSTRACT This article follows producers of Kai Language Heroes, the first Indigenous language game show in the world, as they adapted the genre for language revitalization. Kai Language Heroes is one of many original programs at Taiwan Indigenous Television (TITV), a public broadcaster that serves Taiwan's diverse Austronesian‐speaking peoples. I argue
