KMT‐type inequalities and goodness‐of‐fit tests
Statistica Neerlandica, 1994The implications of the probability inequality of Komløs, Major and Tusnády (1975) for the theory of goodness‐of‐fit tests, especially tests based on stochastic integrals with respect to the basic martingale in the random censoring model, are discussed.

Asian Journal of Comparative Politics, 2018
The KMT’s electoral defeat in 2016 was not a case of a dominant party crashing to defeat due to mismanaging its factions or ineptly allocating state resources. This article illustrates a third path by which dominant parties can lose power.

KMT-2016-BLG-0212: First KMTNet-Only Discovery of a Substellar Companion
, 2018We present the analysis of KMT-2016-BLG-0212, a low flux-variation $(I_{\rm flux-var}\sim 20$) microlensing event, which is well-covered by high-cadence data from the three Korea Microlensing Telescope Network (KMTNet) telescopes. The event shows a short

The Bitter Struggle between the KMT and the CCP
Asian Survey, 1981FIRST OF ALL, some basic concepts need to be clarified before we begin our discussion. The struggle between the Republic of China (ROC) and Communist China has had a long history and is beyond compromise. As seen from the ROC, people on the Chinese mainland are fellow countrymen and logical objects of deliverance, while the Communist regime is ...

Some observations on the KMT dyadic scheme
Journal of Statistical Planning and Inference, 2007Mason investigates the well-known Komlós-Major-Tusnády (KMT) Brownian bridge approximation to the uniform empirical process. He describes the KMT dyadic scheme and gives some remarks relating to the approaches of other authors working on this field. The author points out that the KMT construction is a Gaussian approximation to a nested array of dyadic ...

The May Fourth Movement, the KMT and the CCP
1995In the last seventy years, in China as well as in the West, many theoretical treatises have been written as to why “Mr D” (Democracy) of the May Fourth Movement has failed to arrive and make his presence felt in the Central Kingdom.1 Among the various theories on offer, the two most persuasive ones are the economic and the cultural deterministic ...

KMT Theory Applied to Approximations of SDE
2014The dyadic method of Komlos, Major and Tusnady is a powerful way of constructing simultaneous normal approximations to a sequence of partial sums of i.i.d. random variables. We use a version of this KMT method to obtain order 1 approximation in a Vaserstein metric to solutions of vector SDEs under a mild non-degeneracy condition using an easily ...
