Evaluation of functional deficits using the Ankle‐GO™ score before and after arthroscopic anatomic lateral ankle ligament reconstruction among patients suffering from chronic ankle instability

open access: yesKnee Surgery, Sports Traumatology, Arthroscopy, Volume 34, Issue 3, Page 1088-1097, March 2026.
Abstract Purpose To evaluate the evolution of ankle deficits in patients suffering from chronic ankle instability (CAI) following an arthroscopic anatomic lateral ankle ligament reconstruction (AALALR) based on Ankle‐GO™. Methods This prospective cohort (2022–2023) included patients suffering from CAI who underwent an AALALR.

Modeling, Evaluation, and In Vivo Estimation of Muscle Cell Diameter With the Random Permeable Barrier Model: Correlation With Subject Characteristics and Isometric Torque

open access: yesNMR in Biomedicine, Volume 39, Issue 3, March 2026.
We evaluated the random permeable barrier model (RPBM) through simulations, model fitting, and in vivo analysis of 100 healthy adults. Simulations showed that stable estimates of muscle cell diameter and membrane permeability require constraining τ and fixing D0 at ~0.9 of axial diffusivity at long diffusion times.

Development of a Grasshopper‐Leg‐Inspired Back‐Type Exoskeleton for the Reduction of Muscle Activation During Stoop Activities

open access: yesJournal of Field Robotics, Volume 43, Issue 2, Page 739-760, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Farmers frequently suffer from musculoskeletal disorders, particularly lower back pain (LBP), mainly due to occupational ergonomic factors such as repetitive stooping and lifting. This study proposes using an exoskeleton to reduce LBP risk by providing external torque to the hip joints.

Microscopic and molecular aspects of skeletal muscle alterations in cerebral palsy

open access: yesDevelopmental Medicine &Child Neurology, Volume 68, Issue 3, Page 343-357, March 2026.
Cerebral palsy, caused by non‐progressive brain injury, is frequently accompanied by skeletal muscle alterations. This review synthesizes current evidence from muscle biopsy studies, revealing cellular and molecular adaptations in muscle tissue. Abstract Cerebral palsy (CP), the most prevalent childhood‐onset motor disability, frequently entails ...

Changes in Lower Limb Axial Alignment, Gait Biomechanics, and Plantar Force in Crowe Type IV Hip Dysplasia After Total Hip Arthroplasty: A Mean Ten‐Year Follow‐Up Retrospective Cohort Study

open access: yesOrthopaedic Surgery, Volume 18, Issue 3, Page 459-473, March 2026.
This is the first study to examine the global alignment of the hip, knee, ankle, and lower limb after total hip arthroplasty in DDH Crowe type IV patients with a follow‐up period of more than 10 years. This is also the first study of its kind (as far as we know) in which both the unaffected and the affected sides were monitored, and full normalization ...
