Traumatic dislocation of the knee

open access: yes, 2021
Traumatic dislocation of the knee is a rare condition. Extensive soft tissue damage and neurovascular injury can be associated with dislocation. Two patients with traumatic dislocation of the knee have been treated in our clinic between 1990-1993.

TGFBI Maintains Fibrocartilage Homeostasis by Restraining O‐GlcNAcylation to Inactivate and Destabilize ADAMTS16 in Temporomandibular Joint Osteoarthritis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
TGFBI deficiency elevates O‐GlcNAcylation, promoting the transcriptional activation of ADAMTS16 and OGT‐mediated post‐translational modification of ADAMTS16 at Ser1170. This leads to its stabilization and accumulation, driving chondrocyte metabolic disorders and senescent phenotypes, ultimately resulting in fibrocartilage dysfunction and TMJOA ...

Persistent Zn2+ Influx‐Mediated Deacetylation of ANXA2 Regulates the “Zn2+‐Autophagic Flux” and Alleviates Intervertebral Disc Degeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Zinc transporter SLC39A14 sustains intracellular Zn2+ levels to activate SIRT3‑dependent ANXA2 deacetylation at K302. This modification weakens ANXA2‑mTOR binding and releases autophagic‑flux suppression in nucleus pulposus cells. Dysregulated Zn2+ homeostasis disrupts this axis to drive intervertebral disc degeneration.

Digoxin Alleviates Osteoarthritis by Inhibiting Macrophage Extracellular Trap Formation via Disruption of the LSP1‐SOD1 Interaction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Synovial macrophages in osteoarthritis upregulate LSP1, which directly binds and inhibits SOD1, triggering a redox imbalance that activates both NOX and mitochondrial ROS pathways. This cascade drives the release of macrophage extracellular traps (METs), causing chondrocyte damage and disease progression.

Total knee arthroplasty and medial patellofemoral ligament reconstruction for knee osteoarthritis with habitual patellar dislocation: a case report

open access: yesFrontiers in Surgery
BackgroundKnee osteoarthritis and habitual patellar dislocation are clinically common osteoarticular diseases. However, existing literature lacks reports on their co-occurrence and treatment approaches.

Pathological Knee Dislocation in the Morbidly Obese [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Knee dislocation is often related to high-energy trauma and may be associated with neurovascular damage. Body weight is not usually recognized as a causative factor. However, morbid obesity may be associated with pathological dislocation.

Accelerating Musculoskeletal Robotics Through Parametric Design and 3D‐Printed Flexible Structures

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Parametric design and flexible 3D printing create muscle‐, tendon‐, ligament‐, and cushion‐like robotic elements from a single thermoplastic polyurethane material. Tuning lattice patterns adjusts regional mechanical properties and enables coordinated multijoint motions in a life‐sized musculoskeletal leg under external suspension, with partial body ...

Grain size, size-distribution and dislocation structure from diffraction peak profile analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Diffraction peak profile analysis (or Line Profile Analysis, LPA) has recently been developed to such an extent that it can be applied as a powerful method for the characterization of microstructures of crystalline materials in terms of crystallite ...

Congenital dislocation of the knee complicated with bilateral hip dislocation: a case report and literature review

open access: yesBMC Musculoskeletal Disorders
Background Congenital dislocation of the knee is characterised by excessive knee extension or dislocation and anterior subluxation of the proximal tibia, and this disease can occur independently or coexist with different systemic syndromes. Nevertheless,

Musculoskeletal Phenotypes of 19 Patients With X‐Linked HNRNPH2‐Related Neurodevelopmental Disorder: A Prospective Case Series

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Detailed clinical phenotypes have been previously reported for 33 individuals with X‐linked HNRNPH2‐related neurodevelopmental disorder. Of these, 75% self‐reported a musculoskeletal abnormality, including hip dysplasia, scoliosis, kyphosis, lordosis, pes planus, arthritis, and missing spinous processes.
