THE EPIDEMIOLOGY OF KNEE DISLOCATIONS

Clinics in Sports Medicine, 2000
The traumatically dislocated knee can be a devastating injury; fortunately, it is uncommon. More attention is being given to the treatment of knee dislocations as the capability of ligamentous reconstruction increases. Great treatment advances are anticipated as this interest grows and outcomes are evaluated.

Traumatic dislocation of the knee

The Journal of Emergency Medicine, 1984

Congenital Dislocation of the Knee

Journal of Pediatric Orthopaedics, 1982
Congenital knee dislocation presents with a fixed hyperextension deformity and anterior displacement of the tibia on the femur. Seventeen patients with a dislocation of 27 knees and no other neuromuscular syndrome have been reviewed for treatment outcome. Congenital Dislocation of the Knee

Journal of Pediatric Orthopaedics, 1989
Congenital dislocations of the knee (CDK) are rare, occurring 40-80 times more rarely than congenital dislocation of the hip (CDH). In a multicentric study of the European Paediatric Orthopaedic Society, 56 cases of CDK were found in 46 babies. Many other malformations associated with CDK were noticed, and muscular abnormality was always found at the ...

Congenital Dislocation of the Knee

Journal of Pediatric Orthopaedics, 1987
Twenty-three congenital knee dislocations in 17 patients were reviewed after an average follow-up of 11 years. There was a 30% incidence of breech delivery along with a 41% incidence of clubfoot. Treatment in serial casts was successful in 10 knees; 13 required operations.
